After 1.6.2., several wood and stone textures in Jotunheim are either very low quality, or not loading at all. This happens everywhere in Jotunheim and really ruins the immersion. So far I've encountered the problem only in the mythological worlds of Jotunheim and Asgard. England and Norway appear to be normal. Just check out these screenshots and you will see how awful the Jotunheim textures look now:

I'm really disappointed in the fact that this was quite possibly the final update for Valhalla and my game has been left in such a broken state. If you can't fix this, please at least give players the option to roll back to a previous version of the game so problems like this can be avoided.

I tried verifying my game files and changing the graphics settings to lower ones but it didn't remove the problem.

Hi @Crazybone992, thank you for taking the time to bring this to our attention! To cover all of our bases, I would like to suggest some additional troubleshooting steps and if this issue is still present, I will get everything documented and sent up for further investigation. Please proceed with the following:

  • Confirm that Ubisoft Connect and Valhalla are installed on the same drive as your OS
  • Tackle all of the steps in this FAQ article for good measure
  • Unplug non-essential peripherals (additional monitors, controllers, VR equipment, etc.)
  • End unnecessary background processes that are running via Task Manager (Overwolf, MSI Afterburner, screen recording software, Razer/Synapse, etc.)
  • Reinstall your C++ Redistributables

Once all of those have been completed successfully if this texture issue still occurs, I'd also like to review your MSInfo and DxDiag system files to see if anything stands out. If you don't mind, please log in to our website and create a new support case for this issue with your system files attached, then follow up in this discussion topic to let me know after that is done. Either way, I'll be more than happy to make sure this gets reported and investigated further🔥

Hey @Crazybone992!

I'm really sorry about any inconvenience, I see it would be a nuisance to try that step but we do advise it as it can help in some cases. If you do find the time to test it, we would appreciate that! Otherwise, it could also be worth trying out the suggestion @longjohn119 provided (thanks for the suggestion)!

Hi @Crazybone992 apologies for the late response.

I'm sorry to hear that the suggestion by longjohn119 did not work.

I can confirm that we have not received any other reports of issues with textures after installing the latest update.

I can also confirm Title Update 1.7.0, released on February 21, is the final update to address bug fixes in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. As a result, any new issues reported will not be addressed by the development team. Thank you for your understanding.

The only other thing I can suggest is to uninstall then reinstall the game, and if possible try to reinstall the game onto the same drive as Ubisoft Connect.
