I am 96% Finished with everything in the game and have reached level 466. However after multiple title updates I am not able to get the children to interact with me or sit down on the bench above them to complete the mystery I am playing on the PlayStation 5 version of the game and am encountering this issue.

Are you able to capture a video showing you are unable to react with the children? To my knowledge, there are no ongoing investigations or reports of this quest being bugged.
Are you able to share your clip to your Twitter profile or YouTube on the PS4?
Do you have those accounts linked to your PlayStation and does it give you the option, if you click the 'share' button on your controller when hoovering over your recorded clip?

Just to double check are you on the latest version of the game? This issue was apparently resolved with a prior update and we've not received many other reports of this issue since so just checking all is up to date on your end. If the issue is confirmed present on the latest version I'll report this to the team.

There is a slightly odd workaround for this issue that might help to resolve this in the meantime. Some players confirmed they were able to get the children to move to their correct locations by pushing them towards the bonfire while mounted on a horse. Once they did this the children then go to their correct position and were able to be interacted with.
