Yes, that applies for the standalone expansion and DLC and visa versa.

Generally, we strongly recommend that players buy games and extra content for the game (such as Season Pass or DLCs) from the same digital store to ensure compatibility. 
In most cases, players will run into compatibility issues if they buy the game from Steam or from the Epic Games Launcher and the Season Pass (or any other additional content) from the Ubisoft Store.
Unless stated otherwise, the game and the content may not be compatible. This means that players will not be able to use the extra content they purchased in the main game.
