I've tried reinstalling directx and switching to directx 11 as well as messing with my graphics settings and even reinstalled both the game and windows but it still crashes every few mins or sometimes few seconds.

still encounter the directX error constantly even with the new land of lions DLC

all links i find go directly to Ubisoft support but, as i try to submit a support case, it is unavailable, on purpose?
this issue goes back from 2018 and still no fix?

The game runs better for some players depending on what system specs they have and what version of DirectX they are using. Some players who have had issue with DirectX12 reported to us that they have not had these issues on DirectX 11.

Are you able to test the game by installing DirectX 11 and then afterwards, Direct X12?

We are aware of an issue where Anno 1800 will crash with an unknown DirectX error when you try to start a new game session over and over again after playing the game for some time.

This issue is currently being investigated and should be fixed with an upcoming game update.

Thank you for getting back to us. As a temporary workaround are you able to disable your screensaver or set it to a longer time to start when playing ANNO?

Hello everyone, thank you for bringing this issue to our attention again, after some of you have contacted us about this in the last 4 weeks.

We previously have had investigations opened into different DirectX error messages, to help us identify which issue it is, that everyone is experiencing specifically, could you please answer the following questions if affected by this currently -

1. When did you notice these crashes happen to you in game, most recently?

2. Are you playing a multiplayer or previous multiplayer save file?

3.Which version of DirectX are you using, have you tested both and which version suffers the most crashes?

4. What are you doing in the game when it crashes?

5.What is the exact message that appears for you? A screenshot would also be helpful.


If you can help us answer these questions, we can narrow down which DirectX issue this issue appears to be related to.

It may help us further, if you can also send your save file to us, using our support website. You can attach a save file to a new case here - https://support.ubisoft.com/en-gb/Cases/New
