I hope so, but not a single screenshot with less than one month remaining?

I will believe it when I see it.

For what it is worth, I can assure you that the screenshots are beautiful, and the trailer is shaping up very well also. I was just looking at the latest version of it this morning.

It’s weird they are not in a position to say anything about it because of feedbacks when the game will be released in a month top.

To be fair, if you look at most of our Anno 1800 DLCs, you will see that we usually only started giving concrete details on them 2-3 weeks before release, so it is not too unusual.

The fact that we wanted to talk about it sooner was the exception.

I'm so happy to hear about that cosmetic DLC. I'm fully committed to CK3 at the moment and I'm going to dive back into Anno 1800 when every last DLC is out. It seriously looks like the final game will be one of the best ever. It's already one of the top 5 I've played.

Normally I would ask "how dare you", but since CK3 also has a lot of fans on the Anno team you are forgiven- as long as you are back in time for "Land of Lions"!

Thanks for the update.

I would rather have they spend a few weeks of extra tweaking instead of losing days on making promo interviews.

But working in IT myself, it will probably release 31 oct :p

Good news is that the 31st is a Saturday, so it should probably release sooner than that.

Sounds like a great plan, let's do it! My cats are always ready for more sales-based bonus treats as well!

Dammit!! Is this post from some developer of Ubisoft!?

Was really hoping for announcement of a Season Pass 3, and a meaty expansion pack sized DLC with at least one more Asian/Indian themed session-this would have rounded off this Anno entry as an amazingly well-rounded definitive Anno game!

Given that games like Destiny 2, Division, etc. are seen as games as service, with a long tail of updates post release, I would argue that, despite Anno not being a massive multiplayer game, but rather a primarily single player/co-op driven sedate city builder game, Anno has carved out its own unique niche amongst city building games in the base building games genre and has its own set of dedicated fans, who will continue to gobble up any post-release content.

If the sales of Land of Lions bears this out, I hope that Ubi/BlueByte re-think its stance and potentially consider adding at least one other session, if possible, (alongside developing neglected aspects of this se...

Whether you count him as a developer is up to your own definition I guess, but that German post is certainly from someone who works on the Anno Dev Team and knows some things: me!

And yes, as stated in that German post, I see no possible scenario in which we would do another content-heave DLC like "Land of Lions" for Asia.

While you are right that there are extremely successful Games-as-a-Service titles like Destiny 2 (in which I have spent hundreds of hours, Warlock Life!), Anno 1800 is not one of them, and neither the game nor team structure were set up to support this title for years on end.

On the flip side, you can be sure that we have learned a lot about how to better support an Anno game after launch from 1800, and I am sure many of those learnings will be applied to future games from the team.

But that is the beauty of Anno- there are so many ways for players to find their own enjoyment. Who cares if you never reach the endgame, as long as you are having fun and do something that brings you joy :)

Oh nice, I was hoping this would come out as a dlc cosmetic pack, the lights look really nice as well. Looks like I'm going to be spending even more hours creating little commercial districts for my people to enjoy.

Just be careful- every time I see those vending stalls, I get the urge to eat Pizza...

Well, 2 days before end of the month we learn that DLC will be postponed, and we still don't get details about it. It kinda makes me worry what happened, it suggest that some bigger changes had to be done in the last moment or that something unexpected happened that affected development.

On the other hand I am on the Anno 1800 rehab until October, so it doesn't change much for me. Take your time, as long as it will release in this year I won't complain about it getting postponed.

Not quite- the DLC itself is still very much on track for October, and the date has not changed. It was just the blogs we had to push back.

No need to start a new game, you can integrate Land of Lions into an existing save if you want to.
