It is great that DLC are self contained and fully agree that DLC on DLC are not often a good idea. However, I still feel it would be great if there was more interaction between DLC. Bright harvest and trelawney (diving bell) are great examples, as they work perfectly well on their own, but can also interact nicely with other dlc from different seasons (this would to some extent even be the case without the diving bell working in lol). Having shared needs/resources between lol and the Arctic or the Arctic and scholars would be such a great feature which would not compromise the self contained nature of DLC, while at the same time reward customers that got all DLC/incentive buying all of them.

You are right that we have some DLC features that work with other DLCs (like the Bright Harvest system in Enbesa), but as these are systemic features and not completionism content, the initial situation is a bit different.

With the cultural items, we know that many players want to complete them (which the game encourages with set bonuses of course). So if someone were to buy the Botanica DLC because they want the Botanical Garden feature, they are expecting that they will be able to complete their botanical collection within the DLC they paid for, right? Suddenly a year later being told that your collection is incomplete again because a new DLC is out is therefore not an ideal experience. On the other hand, being able to use DLC like "Bright Harvest" doesn't diminish or take anything away from the BH DLC itself, and actually makes it more worthwhile to players because they get more use out of the DLC they paid for, rather than less.

Museum and Zoo are no problem, ...

Will these special faction islands be present in multiplayer, even if (as I suspect) the main story is unavailable?

No, the story islands won't be part of multiplayer (including co-op). So you should definitely experience them in singleplayer, even if you may usually prefer multi!

That is a good question, as such topics can be a bit more complicated in big corporations. Rest assured we on the Anno dev team would love to have a way for players to enjoy all the DLC tracks outside the game as well, and are looking into how we can make that happen.

Nothing new for the botanical garden? A bit disappointed, it's my favorite cultural building.

We try to have our DLCs be self-contained, and not require you to buy another DLC to be able to fully use.

Will there be new items available from Enbesa for our zoos, museums, and botanical gardens? Please say yes, please say yes (crossing fingers)

There are in total 56 ( believe) new cultural items, split between Museum and Zoo.

Please please please Anno team, please pay someone to make an actual box for this game. It just looks like a cheap ripoff right now.

I am to be honest not quite sure what you mean? The box is pretty much a standard board game box, like most normal releases?

It is not, no. Maybe you will be luckier tomorrow?

This change does btw only apply to players owning the "Land of Lions" DLC.

It is a fair point to ask about. Unfortunately, we only had two English participants for the preview: PC GamesN (who posted a lengthy written preview), and Republic of Play who already posted his video on Thursday.

It was done remotely, as we don't want to unduly endanger anyone with unnecessary travel in the age of COVID.

On the bright side, it was the first time I got to do a press event from my living room (I was wearing pants, thanks for asking!), and I only lost my seat to the cat once, so that was a success all around.
