I was just in the middle of a run and tried looking for my “Tip of the Iceberg II” challenge to track how I’ve been doing, was surprised I couldn’t see it but noticed the new ??? challenges as you’ve previously mentioned above.
Thought I’d check Reddit to see if anyone was speaking about it and a Community Manager is quickly dealing with the subject which is great to see - I can definitely see the point in choosing to reset and try to fix it now rather than wait for a fix that wouldn’t come into cert until much later in the event.
Please keep us posted on any information BioWare has on how they’ll reimburse players for lost progress! Perhaps these Tip of the Iceberg challenges could pull data from challenges like Fall Harvest which tracks Outlaws Defeated or something of the Trial - Bronze / Silver / Gold Flyer challenges to roughly count towards completing 40 races etc?
... that wouldn’t come into cert until much later in the event.
You know the struggle. This is the way.
Hey /u/CM_Ythisens is there any word on the Gold Time Trials for specific Javelin challenges? Currently for me both Rust Bowl Run and Fortress Run are not counting my Gold times for the Interceptor, Storm or Colossus challenges.
Yes we're aware of this issue as well. We've been working on a fix but no updates on that just yet.
A work around some folks have pointed out is that they were able to obtain the Gold credit on Easy, but I haven't seen this personally. So you might give that a shot in the mean time while we try and get that fixed up! :)
So it was already fixed and then glitched again?
For clarification it was broken, we tried a fix, and it remained broken but also changed the progress some players had.
Since Icetide has been live the challenge has not actually been able to be completed but players were able to make some progress towards it. This reset is to fix the tracking so that all players can now correctly make progress and complete it.
They should have took some more time to fix it properly then. This is just going to generate more negative reception.
Just for your awareness we shut down for the holidays, so a bigger more complicated fix wouldn't have been able to be done before we all come back in January. It's also impossible to get update approvals for consoles during the holidays because most studios/offices outside of BioWare also shut down for holidays.
We weighed this into the decision and opted to simply reset the challenges while there is still a large amount of time left in the event. The alternative would've been everyone being stuck in a state where they earn no progress at all for several weeks and then you'd only be able to retain what you had before it was broken, as the data wouldn't be able to track what was done in the mean time since it was broken.
In this case we're making what we feel is the best decision for players, even though it does feel bad to lose what progress you have obtained.
Hello everyone! Just wanted to drop an update on some changes that we made today for Icetide.
Earlier today we pushed a change that was intended to fix an issue with the tracking for the "Bonus Objectives" and "Targets Destroyed" objectives in the Icetide challenges. Essentially there was an issue with the data that affected the tracking and today's change was intended to correct that to show your correct progress. However this change had some unintended side effects on the live servers that changed objective progress for some of you.
To fix this we will be disabling the challenge and resetting it to put players back in a state where they can earn progress again, you’ll see the challenge temporarily change to be listed as “???”. This should be happening soon. We know it doesn't feel good that your progress wasn't counted and we want to reward you for the progress you should've had, as well as give you the actual chance to still earn the Icetide challenges. We apolog...

We always want to know if people are exploiting in Anthem, making the experience less enjoyable for our community. If you have proof of this happening, with or without the people in question, we would love to review it.
We do not, however, take action against players from just hearsay.
Edit: Now updated with Week 1 Leaderboard winners!
Please note, due to the holidays that we will likely skip the scores on a couple of the Cortex entries over the next couple of weeks, but we'll update on all those weeks on the first Cortex following the break. Happy Holidays, everyone!
Community Cortex | Week 2 update
A cold wind blows across the jungles of Bastion. In the wake of the Season of Skulls, bonfires may once again be lit—this time to fight the cold.
Season’s greetings, Freelancers, and welcome to the Icetide season! But don’t go thinking the frosty landscape has made your foes any less determined. While you’ll find fewer Scar and Dominion enemies out in the wilderness this time of year, outlaws are seizing the opportunity presented by the “hibernation” to come in greater force. The cold never bothered them, anyway.
With Icetide, dozens of new challenges have been added for you to complete, including ones that are added each week and three that are se...
