@EricThehysteric @zzzzzunit @summit1g It's not hard to understand why a player like zunit might say ARK is trash at enforcement., Some of these things are less about understanding and more about being able to take action on the things that are being said.
@zzzzzunit @summit1g They both are sending a message. Just one is actually productive and the other is.... just venting.
@zzzzzunit @summit1g Which do you think would get more eyes? :)
@Xbox_InMy_Veins @zzzzzunit @summit1g Sure
@EricThehysteric @zzzzzunit @summit1g I'm just saying yelling only gets you so far. And when everyone is always yelling, it has the tendency to become white noise.
@zzzzzunit @summit1g I can respect that. It's just when I hear terms like "being hard on them" it usually only means a few things as a gamer. Your true power, at an executive level, is with your money and time.
@zzzzzunit @summit1g Hard criticism doesn't really move the needle (imo). Devs aren't looking and saying "oh crap summit criticized us". They usually look at metrics to determine what the player base is really saying. Sure if something goes viral, devs might respond, but its few and far between
@zzzzzunit @summit1g What does "being hard on them" really mean though? Insults? Is that being hard on someone? Does that get you closer to your objective? Asking genuinely.
@willdecidesoon you might find this article of interest
@willdecidesoon Some exploiters in ARK do make some money from them. Duping then selling via RMT is an example.
Loose change compared to what cheat developers make.
Selling third party software/hacks is a multi-million dollar industry. Detecting and patching against those hacks is too
@willdecidesoon Exploits are our responsibility to fix, unfortunately, we don't always find the exploits as quickly as we'd like or we may have difficulty reproducing them so our programmers can fix it. We patch exploits frequently, sometimes without patch notes to make it harder for exploiters
@willdecidesoon It's not dumb. I think you're interchanging cheats with exploits.
Exploits are unintended game mechanics that are used to gain an unfair advantage.
Summit's tweet was about cheats aka hacks - third-party software eg: aimbot, ESP etc
@ThePilgrimz L39 Albatross Lead-in Jet Fighter
@ThePilgrimz Haha he said he saw some black dots at 5G but otherwise handled it like it was his 500th flight
Gave him a jet ride. Pic was taken when he was given control.
Pilot was confused as to whether he was bored or not okay
I've been singing smooth operator to him every day since
Him: 😎
ignorant take from someone who plays games for a living
No amount of money eradicates cheats forever. Cheats are like catching a cold, you're still susceptible to a mutated cold until your white blood cells adapt
ps: players don't like granting kernal level access client-side
Why do Triple game studios still have problems with cheaters? I just don’t understand how you’re ok with letting your game and consumers get shit on. Invest some fucking money.
@DillyShaggins @briearlene @survivetheark I prefer Mondays.
@briearlene @survivetheark You will know in advance. We have given a weeks notice, at minimum, before all of our bigger events if I'm not mistaken
