@JordanLaws0n @Jade_Playsgames Marketing and PR companies do :)
@JordanLaws0n @Jade_Playsgames But sales-wise it was our best DLC. Crazy right? (Not trying to be funny)
@JordanLaws0n @Jade_Playsgames I don't disagree with you all and from everything I'm hearing - management doesn't disagree either. That's where we want to be.
@Jade_Playsgames @JordanLaws0n In general, (I've worked at a couple corporate places), business is about sales. If the sales are what they expected, there's no "problem". Not saying this is a WC thing but its a business thing in general.
@Jade_Playsgames @JordanLaws0n That's a fair assessment.
@Jade_Playsgames Sales does not equal profit. :) But these are valid points. These aren't unfixable issues but people seem to think they are as easy to solve as snapping fingers. Quotes we've been given from QA teams (because of the ramp-up needed to know ARK) are through the roof.
@JordanLaws0n @Jade_Playsgames If it leaks, it's not a good situation for anyone.
@JordanLaws0n @Jade_Playsgames It's not about people at that point. It's about obligations you have with press and marketing that they get the leads on specific content. It's a business.
@JordanLaws0n @Jade_Playsgames So if we had a new crazy DLC you think NDA's would prevent a leak?
@DBlinkndrink People are asking for more changes to the mechanics - and some of them are needed just as much as fixing the stuff that's broken. There isn't one thing that's going to make every ARK player. So you have to attack at many angles.
@Jade_Playsgames And we've talked to companies that do QA before everyone asks to see if we can hire a QA team. The problem with that is they dont know ARK. And knowing ARK to catch the bugs we need means thousands of hours.
@Jade_Playsgames Our QA team is not big enough to QA ARK - simply put. I don't think people give ARK the credit it deserves for its depth in terms of gameplay systems and development. It's like a huge game of Jenga.
Most development time is invested in researching issues. When you can reduce that time, you get things out faster (for everyone). I know release parity is important to the community and it's something we will try to get closer to.
There are reasons why things sometimes go to PC first. With something like a big DLC or map, it allows us to quickly identify platform issues vs. game issues. IE Is it a problem with the core, XBOX, or PS4? Doing this cuts dev time dramatically.
@Chandle38952991 We can try and eliminate these things in the future. Believe me, your feedback is being heard.
@Chandle38952991 I'm not going to sit here and pretend that PC and console are equal. They are vastly different in every way. So making sure these events and DLC hit all platforms at the same exact time lengthens overall development time and increases bugs for everyone.
@musgo_the @Peteralonsus With that said, we see and hear the communities feedback on this and we'll try harder in the future.
@musgo_the @Peteralonsus PC players got to enjoy the content because they have a PC. They also got to enjoy more bugs than console. Different advantages go to different platforms. Equality only applies when we are talking about things that are really equal. PC and consoler arent equal
@ShrewdMorsMorde @thedanksauce69 @survivetheark Spread those #PositiveVibes. Life is so much better that way :)
@KronAssassin @ReeceHatherley @thedanksauce69 @survivetheark I'll have to ask around on this one - not one I've commonly seen.
