Combat while being the most important mechanic in the game, is also the least connected. It also requires the most amount of iteration and interaction from testers.

Many of the world systems implemented early require heavy engineering And design focus. While we enter the first alpha, we will be collecting feedback and data on combat implementation and it will undergo several extreme and complete changes in order to nail the right feel/look.

It’s just a process. ❤️

Another point, experience debt can significantly reduce your drop rate for monsters. The more debt you own the greater the drop in % for loot tables. These modifiers are applied in a divisible manner for parties.

Hello frand. To clarify, Alpha One was never listed as exclusive. In fact, over 2 years ago when I “suspended” the Alpha One preorder packs I did specify that the access was being suspended because we had hit our 10k tester limit.

My statement about reopening Alpha One sales will only come under consideration after our alpha one testing with our current Alpha One backers and Intrepid pre-order pack holders shows that we are capable of stress testing beyond our previously anticipated limits of 10k. If Alpha One were to be offered once more as a preorder package, it would be under a different pack name but of same price point.

These intentions are consistent with my previous statements regarding Alpha One ❤️

We just need 10K followers on https://www.instagram.com/ashesofcreation/ in order to unlock the "Swipe Up" feature. LOL. (It will be a nice features for folks who follow us. Right now, our Instagram stories have no way for folks to get to links unless they manually type them in. Instagram is strange like that.)

A couple things of note;

We randomize latency by hosting batches of 200 of these simulated players on separate servers from different aws hubs that then connect into the game server.

Movement updates are the most intensive aspect of network traffic for most multiplayer games (aside from heavy projectile/hitscan based shooters) but most mmos, the majority of the legwork on the network traffic is updating movement and position to all net relevant clients in the area.

We’ve made some significant progress and will continue to test this progress and make even more as we enter widespread testing phases. The road ahead will be perilous and bumpy. But will yield good progress for Ashes :)

Does that include KS backers that only recently upgraded to LoM? I opened a ticket 4 days ago because I noticed I don't even have any forum badges, but I assume support is all backed up with tickets right now. ;)



Yes. Support is handling a lot of tickets atm. But rest assured upgrades are included from original summer and KS backers. 💪
