This thread makes me happy. The PvP ATLAS world needs groups of people to band together to advance common goals and promote order in all the chaos. Kudos to you! :)

Otherwise...

Correct, it is not procedurally generated. Every island is hand-made by the artists and level designers using tools like World Machine, Houdini and custom UE4 blutilities. Completed islands are then hand-placed in the world map using our world layout tool (will be available to end users).

It doesn't say December edition. Magazines are just weird, anyway.

I believe the issue numbers are different between US and UK, but the Atlas cover will be available in the US around Jan 1st.

According to the tweet from PCgamer that Jat posted yesterday, the digital version of the December issue came out yesterday. My googling is letting me down and I can't find the article online. Has anyone else had a chance to read it, and is there any new info?:

The UK article is the January edition and it will be in the US soon.

The hydra, cyclops, gorgon(naga) are reskinned models from Dark and Light.

Do you have an image of the mermaid?

They are not. There is nothing from Dark and Light in Atlas.

Pretty sure he/she is referring to smooth sailing as in, uninterrupted sailing.

Both. There are storms, varying wind situations, AI and human ships that may take interest in you, and the need to stop for supplies.

3 minutes * sqrt(1200) ~ 104 minutes.

I think it will take at least 10 times that even with unlimited supplies and smooth sailing, which will never be the case. :)
