I am also concerned with the change of not allowing sleeping characters to contest claims. I would hope that you could clarify the timers first at the very least. As it is, there are positive and negative timers and as far as I can tell, no one actually knows exactly how long you have before they can be contested on pve. Small groups can't realistically log on every few hours to make sure no one steals all the time they put into the game. As this is a core game mechanic I feel the time they have (including if there are time changes per flag) should be clearly visible to the company land owners. I'm also reading conflicting reports on how to reset the timers. Do you need to run to each flag or just log onto the zone? I have been logging on in the morning and at night before sleep and just running to the flags just to be sure. It's not fun... but would be worse losing our progress to an unclear mechanic. Then there is the overlapping claim flag issue as well, at least sleeping bodi...

I'm seeing if we can push up the negative timer fix for this very same build so people are able to tell clearly whether a claim is inactive or not. You need to physically be in the zone where the flag is, logging onto the server wouldn't be enough.

Tbh man, I don't care what the harvest rate is set to, but having it go up on some weekends, especially when it's pretty regularly, just de-motivates me to play any other time.

It's something we do want to cut down on in the future and focus on more specialised events, but whilst we're in this highly iterative stage of development and we're shipping server binaries like no tomorrow, it's really helpful to us from a data gathering point of view. When the servers run as crap as possible, whilst it sucks for everyone, we can learn a lot and make improvements so overtime the experience will be much better.

Not entirely, it may vary per region/biome

They're promising to make solo/small-group play viable. (Not holding my breath)

That's really what's been missing from ARK/ATLAS -- the ability to play with a few friends, without getting constantly wiped. I don't want to play in some huge mega-tribe. I want to login and play with 3-5 friends. And getting wiped every single day isn't fun gameplay.

It's been a long time coming, that's for sure. We can still make the game viable for those particular players without detracting from the experience for large groups of players. I'm super stoked to see where things go!

CCC Coordinates cheat TP K12 327766 -155722 1187

Server is NA PVP Krakens Maw

Seeing the same thing as OP

Could it be that you were used to 4x rates? ATLAS launched at 1x, shortly therefater we hardcoded to 2x (which is currently live and working as far as we can tell -- picking up stones on your grid is a good indicator), and the last 2 weekends we've been at 4x (though it's advertised at 2x.. cause the base was increased). 4x is now disabled tho

I certainly hope you'll be making sure claims refresh properly and maybe last longer too, so people like my tiny 4 person company don't lose everything because we were busy over a weekend. You know, in the real world.

Especially since sleeping players contesting claims is a bug, according to the captains log.. so how do we make sure we're safe?

Only inactive claims are meant to be contestable via this system, so those who haven't been playing for a few days.

Am I losing my mind here or have we been bumped back down to day 1 resource gather rates?

Shouldn't be the case but will have folks check it out.

You'll be safe! We've already run this code on some of our server in the past, we're just expanding it to be on all PvE servers and run constantly now.

I would like to see what is being done to fix the bugs for the endgame of this game. We did our 4th real attempt on the kraken tonight and it just seems to keep doing things like this https://clips.twitch.tv/PopularCrackyMagePrimeMe . The fight itself is pretty simple it's just buggy. We have encountered 3 bugs. The first one we noticed is that the ships of the damned are invulnerable to player attacks. The second thing is that the game randomly kills everybody on your boat. The third is that the encounter will randomly sink ships with no known cause. For balance changes the knockback from the tentacles is frustrating, we have enough practice with it that it is possible to recover it's just annoying. The other thing that should be put in is an area where you know when the boss will pull if you cross it. I have a bunch of clips of random things just killing us. I heard a rumor that if I get 200 likes then somebody from g...

Thanks for sharing, we'll check out the vod to see if we can identify the issues and have them resolved as soon as possible. The 200 upvote thing is to just draw something to our attention, doesn't necessary mean a response is given :P but this certainly should be something we need to investigate.

Copyrights and editorial freedoms are one thing. Damaging your game's image with this kind of abusive (I'd qualify forced censorship of Redditors in this context abuse, as would Reddit) behavior is quite another. If it keeps up, people have stated they'll report, and if that happens the mods or sub are potentially removed. It's outrageous that random people can register these subreddits out from under the game developers and cause so many issues. It's fine to domain squat, but when you start damaging potential income from any business, it's court-worthy and given the history of subs, Reddit definitely doesn't want any part in that.

Reddit isn't our platform, nor are they typically fond of corporations owning communities related to their businesses on it, which is why we'd prefer to use a community run one. MisterWoodhouse has been a part of the management team for a lot of subreddit, large ones too and always enforce Reddit's rules fully, whilst being 100% impartial. I know folks are upset because they think he's being biased, but that isn't the case. He's always allowed folks to be critical of our choices and our team, as long as they're upholding Reddit's TOS.

Known issue that we're looking into, we've temporarily disabled requiring the Power Stone from the Ghost Ship for the Kraken Fight.

How did they do this. This is a two large speed sail Schooner. It was spotted today on Kraken Maw NA PVP. How do you make a schooner with 2 Large speed sails? Is this legit?

Looking into this

No one at Grapeshot has moderation powers here, though I'll send a message to MisterWoodhouse so he can check it out.

I get your point though. You can equip up to 6 pistols and only 1 carbine. You shouldn't have to equip 6 pistols though, so I get it man.
