The consumable slots (Alt 1 - Alt 3) do not accept powers at all, only Potions, Bandages, Food, Campfires. (Our slots are not combo slots that accept both powers/consumables, you get one or the other!)

Good question, the situation you provide isn't an apples to apples comparison though.
In order for the Assassin to be in a state of "DoT ticking + still in stealth";
a) they would first have to break stealth to apply the DoT and then wait the combat timer out (at which point the DoT may have already worn off) ,
b) or use a Vanish to get back into stealth while they have DoT

Yes, all the classes who benefit from have a mitigation in combat and a dodge in survival will have to pick.

I do believe the saying is "better the devil you know". Meaning we have all experienced this before in every game that uses this model, however the benefits of the model outweigh the potential of this known potential problem. We definitely want to hear if it happens to you when this goes to Test, and if it does, you will either need to use a Runegate or Recall.

This is a bug we have in our current build that I hope is fixed by the time we get to Test. Ideally DoT

From a mechanics level our server has always had the concept of "in combat" and "out of combat", it was just being controlled by the player manually (like a stick shift) via the survival tray and any of the "combat" trays (melee/ranged/death/life). This is why we have always had ooc regen and ic regen.
1) Being on any NPC's hate list will keep you in combat. When it dies or leashes you are removed thus dropping ooc. If you are on a players hate list and damage them within 10 seconds you are in combat. Using any combat power (tray / left clicks) will briefly put you into combat for the anima

I say this with the caveat that y'all have overwhelmingly been a phenomenal group to provide support for and I'm insanely excited for when beta rolls around.

To piggyback off what Kraahk posted (thanks, buddy! 👍) :

1. We have some ideas for what VIP will consist of, but it doesn't affect your passive skill training anymore. There haven't been any announcements on how VIP will adjust, but we want to stay as far from anything considered pay-to-win as we can.

2. Kraahk posted some good numbers, but I wanted to reiterate that leveling up isn't solely done through sacrifice. You can also fight NPCs in the world to earn experience, but be aware that the NPCs that count will depend on your vessel's quality and level (just like item sacrifice).

3. There were some recent sanctioned Campaigns that gave prizes (the Trials of the Gods). Currently, though, Campaigns are for bragging rights. In the future there will be a variety of prizes available depending on the Campaign.

4. Kraahk got this one.

5. Yes, you can have multiple vessels and swap between them whenever you li...

This was designed this way intentionally to create a pause between being in combat and in stealth. This is to keep people from popping too quickly between stealth and combat (which is just a less-fun Whack-A-Mole). It gives the stealther's opponent a chance to catch them.

VaMei has the right of it: within the world bands there are an unlimited number of planets. These worlds are broken into islands that can be traveled between via Runegates. The individual worlds are where you'll play Campaigns, set up Eternal Kingdoms, etc. They have as much backstory as we can implant via environmental storytelling and the like, and there are some worlds that have been named in the lore (like the Centaur home world: Pelion).

As to countries, cultures, languages, etc: being that there are a plethora of different worlds inhabited by a number Races that have variations in their own cultures, I'm sure these are as diverse as you can imagine.

Hello! Let me see if I can at least answer a few of these points real quick.

That's still in the initial plan for plant gathering. Right now, the quality of mats collected from plants are either common or rare depending on the plant but this may (or may not) expand to include all quality tiers in the future. The current amount yielded on harvesting is pretty consistent for all players at the moment, but could potentially change if the reaping skill becomes trainable.

So this is an interesting question and I'm curious to know what feedback I'll get after I answer this. Initial

Hello! Someone gave me a heads up about this thread and I thought it would be a good idea to pop in here and say a few things. The absolute first of which is that, even though Crowfall is currently a live product, it is in no way, shape, or form, completed. I've mentioned this before a few times, but one of the unique attributes of working on a live game is the ability to iterate after a few play cycles.

I'm going to use our skill trees as an actual example of this iteration cycle to hopefully paint a bigger picture of how the iteration process on a live product can work. Up until a few cycles ago our talent trees didn't exist and everything was tied to a skill tree, and those trees were really in-depth. After some observation, play testing, and brainstorming, the vessel talent trees were drafted up and added as a way to add a bit more customization without passive training.

We have a lot of talks internally about our current systems and how they a...

If you're not part of the Earth faction, you won't be able to use the Runegate to go to their Temple.

I believe this is correct with the exception of it being its own stat. I think it's tied to our adjective system and the messaging with it is a little fuzzy.
