Developer’s note: Below you’ll find update notes on what changed in this afternoon’s build. In addition to those changes, our team is primarily focused on addressing other high-impact issues that many of you have been experiencing, as well as making the game accessible to as many players as possible. We made a big stride towards global availability last night, but there are still some login issues that we’re continuing to work through. We’ve included a list of our highest-priority known issues below the update notes.

Changes:

  • Some players encounter a bug that causes them to need to repeat the tutorial in order to unlock the other game modes. We’re working to resolve the bug, but in the meantime we’ve implemented messaging for those players to guide them through the steps to getting unblocked.
  • We've been keeping an eye on matchmaking queues and have made some changes to address the longer wait times that some players ...

This is a known issue that we're tracking a fix for. Sorry about that, I know how terrible games like this feel for both sides. We're getting the fix out as soon as we can.

There are servers available in Australia. Not sure what your problem is. Probably your best bet is to submit a bug report via the in-game tool (press escape) and they'll route your feedback to the right team.

Do you guys have a formal avenue for bug reports? Didn't see anything obvious in game for it.

Anyways, in the off chance you actually read this, two bugs concerning the health pod pick-ups:

  1. Numerous times I have picked up a health pod and been able to pick up the same pod a second time (and once even a third).

  2. This has only happened once to me as far as I'm aware: when I went to pick up a health pod, it subtracted one from my total (was not a UI glitch, I was unable to heal until I found another pod that gave me '1 / 3' in the UI.

Edit: If it's helpful, this has been while playing Sazan (though all but two of my games have been with her, so may or may not be specific to her).

Press escape in the game and you'll see the "Report a bug" option.

Were you experiencing lag at the time? It sounds like something that might happen during a lag spike.

We've posted update notes for tonight's build

Bug fixes:

• Players outside of North America can now download and play Crucible.

• Players will now be properly directed to their nearest datacenter.

• Fixed a bug that kept the tutorial game mode selected even after the tutorial has been completed. Players who complete the tutorial will now see the Heart of the Hives mode automatically selected after completing the tutorial.

• Fixed a bug that prevented players from receiving unlock notifications for purchases.

• Fixed an occasional server crash.

A patch just went up that should make it available for EU players.

This is great to hear, thanks for the quick response! If you’re able to confirm, will we be able to manually select which server we connect to or will it lock us into whatever the closest server is?

It will bias you toward nearby servers and you can't select which servers you'll get, but it won't lock you out of distant servers if you want to play with friends on another continent.

A patch just went up on Steam that resolves the non-NA issues so you should be able to log in and play soon.

Note: availability outside of North America may take a few moments to kick in!

EDIT: (10:17pm Pacific) - We're global!

Thank you for this thoughtful and extensive feedback! I'm glad you were able to get in.

A few notes: We're working on performance and will continue to improve the game over time. Voice and text chat is a very high priority for us. There will be servers in Korea once we're able to unlock the game for non-NA regions. We're also going to be adding support for other languages.

Thanks for the feedback!

Our services team is working hard resolving a technical issue that's preventing us from launching outside of NA. Sorry about the wait.

Sigh, 10 hours of QA and the devs still have no idea what could be causing an authentication issue....and still give the generic response of non-NA regions.

Have they stopped to even ask any of us ANY questions? How about give them a -t trace to their servers, how about a wireshark log to their server? Nothing. This is shocking.

OK I looked up this issue for you. Our team's working on it. Please try making sure your system clock is properly sync'd, it can cause a false timeout.

My tip for newcomers: As Kirri or Tosca, use your Q to protect the heart capturer when they're halfway through capturing rather than at the beginning, so that you can make sure it lasts until the end.
