We have tried to reproduce your situation, but we didn't encounter the issue you reported.
- Can you please check if you have any mod enabled at the moment?
- What is your Checksum version? You can see it at the bottom corner right of the Main menu screen.
- Would you be able to share your Save here please? You can find it in the following location: C:\Users\[user_id]\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings III\pops_filestorage\save games

- Could you please double check your friend & you don't have any mod enabled?
- Do you have the same DLCs enabled?
- And finally, can you please compare your Checksum version? It should be: c9bd if you have all the DLCs.

Ok, we will get right on that for you.

Please refrain from posting if you're "submitted by anger". Myself, I refrain to post when I'm "submitted by hunger", never post with a empty stomach or if you're in your Final Form mode.

This said, feedback is always appreciated but please do so in a constructive way. From what you wrote, it feels like you were extremely unlucky!
have you tried to send your own Marshal to increase Control in the difficult provinces?
Also, try to increase your Dread, it really helps with vast empires.

We officially only support Ubuntu 18.04.
However I know that 20.10 & 20.04 work with CK3.

Start Steam, then open terminal and start ./ck3 from the "binaries" directory, to see if It complains about any missing library

Hold the Control-key when raising armies to raise them all in one province. They won't be split based on supply when you raise them :)

Also, please check your Game Settings > Game > Tooltips. Your TImer Lock might be disabled.

Additionally, the Duke is a nice promotion from Count but going from Duke to King was quite the same experience but in bigger. Royal Court aims to bring new features to Kings & Emperors titles levels so it makes a bigger difference from a Duke.

You can always pledge at the beginning or wait a little... but if you wait too long you might receive a warning from your Head of Religion with options.
You can join whenever you want but it's better to give some Score to the Holy War whenever you can.
You could promise to join... join... but don't act if you don't want to :)
