With weapons being cut confirmed, what will be the fate of event weapons (Silver Sword, Golden Claws), current exotics and current legendary weapons? I get basic stuff like Quillshot being replaced but will these higher-end weapons also get replaced as well or will they just be reworked?

What factors will affect compensation? (Ex: How many weapons owned, how many weapons are powersurged, how many reforges)

Feel free to answer with your current intentions if you haven't completely committed to a decision yet.

P.S. The Summer Slayer PS Plus pack is only showing up under the PS5 version on the PS Store, there doesn't seem to be one for the PS4 version.

Silver and Gold will have equivalents in the new world (not exact, but clear counterparts). Exotics will be more important than ever, all weapons will be more like the exotics today. Legendary weapons are really just like anything else but have a kick ass legendary abilities. Those abilities will be found on specific pieces of gear.

Is there more than 8 planned or is 8 the max

Sorry, I should have said 8th weapon TYPE planned - but you know what I mean.

Nothing currently planned for new types beyond that, but we will certainly want to make more in the future after this big update next year.

Holy fk. This game still alive? I thought the Devs gave up on it.

Nope. While our team did shrink while we supported some of Phoenix Lab's other products, we still have an active dev team that is now staffing back up as we continue to make updates and support the game we love.

How will weapon xp be shared between 2 separate weapons when equipped, will it be divided by half or divided by what you used more

Both equipped will get XP - but MOST XP will be accumulated through XP items that you can apply to any weapon you want.

this will be part of the major content patch dropping next summer! You can read more here: https://playdauntless.com/news/state-of-dauntless-the-road-ahead/

This one is a bit specific but is there plans to buff Twin Suns, Godhand, Hunger and the other Exotics? (Excluding Molten Edict). They have been underperforming and are generally considered worse compared to normal options. Imo, they should be the best of the best. I'd especially love to see Godhand and Twin Suns be good as a Pike and Repeater main.

Yeah those weapons should be more viable and fun to use, you bet.

It's fair to say that this is true yes.

We're looking at all parts of the slayer kit.

I can confidently say they were not beans.

So on the topic of exotics, will they be getting more love in the update? Will the definition of it change or what would you call an exotic in the new update? Is it a very unique weapon tied to a specific behemoth with individual skills? Or because of this weapon overhaul will they just be like an ordinary weapon as you try to make each weapon unique?

Are they considered legendary now compared to other weapons, or something else?

Just really looking at the state of exotics and how they will fit into the future.

Exotic weapons are both getting updated and improved, and also setting the standards for all weapons. What were Exotic weapons will now just be weapons, as every weapon in the game should be close to what they provide in unique gameplay.

Not specifically weapon related, but I am asking how the neutral, umbral and radiant elemental effects could be applied. Do you see a way to add this?

Umbral could perhaps deal percentage of remaining health for example.

Radiant could maybe provide shield to slayers or arguably cooler, box in the behemoth.

And literally all I can think for neutral would be as a catalyst. It should maybe enhance the other elemental effects or boost how fast it takes to build up the effect.

Not ready to commit to these additional elemental procs yet, but we'd like to do them. Radiant and Umbral that is. No plans for anything Neutral related.

Likely no neutral

But we are planning to take a look at umbral and radiant. Currently, we don't have a solid design for them nailed down so can't commit to it fully. But the team wants it, and I reallly want it ;)

There were creatures in one of the videos? Surely you just mean the Embermane, right?

Will both weapons effects be possible to activate at the same time.

E.g. The platforms for the terra embermane as well as the fountain thingy from frostwuif?

If so, how would this interact with the level 50 behemoths just as the chronovore and thrax.

This would allow for some sicckkk combos in my personal opinion, and give reason to switch between weapons. Managing the ability cooldowns between weapons would offer some new challenges.

Or, ya know. Balancing...

Some things will carry over, like the whirling blades summoned by a Kharabak UE for instance or the buff from the repeater drops. We are still balancing which exactly will carry over and which kinds of effects should be restricted to the weapon.

Creating cool new combos is exactly the idea though.

I'm curious how many players would like this. Once upon a time, there was no HP bar at all - not even the hearts. In some ways, that adds to "immersion" but in other ways, it's hard to know how much you're doing.

Would y'all like to see big boss health bars at the top of the screen?

On the books, definitely we will be exploring them. If we can find a fun design for these, yes - personally, I don't think dauntless will be complete without them. ;)

As answered elsewhere, I'm looking at this on a case by case basis to determine what can and can't be used across weapons, ideally the end results should make logical sense and be clear to players.

I have everything in my slayers path, it is 100% complete, is that changing? or just adding more stuff? because if all this is changing why not just make a Dauntless 2 ???? I'm concerned because I worked my player off good to get where she is at.

We are 100% taking time to plan how player's progression will carry over into any new systems. The Slayers Path bonuses from reforging will remain important. And the borders earned will remain / be earned in other ways. You will not log in to find you're back at level 1, but you also will likely not be at max level for every weapon, since the overall ceiling is being raised.

Each reforge will be honored and carried over in the new system -- how exactly, we'll be discussing the plan in an AMA like this much closer to the release.

No plans to show Behemoth health to this degree of specificity.
