I’ve locked this thread, since some of you can’t behave. If you disagree with that decision, and feel you’re being “censored”, you can “censor” your ass right out the door. Free speech is no excuse to be a dickbird, and it doesn’t free you from the consequences of your actions.

Have a great weekend!

Ehnnn, the rules are... I mean, they are what they are, but there doesn't feel like there's much mechanically to really make this board game feel distinguished and unique from the other dungeon crawlers.

I wish y'all success on this venture and it looks like it's already well into that territory, but I feel like there's nothing here for the actual video game players to look forward to; instead of creating something unique and interesting in the DRG verse, it's going to be a mediocre, physical implementation of the digital version that isn't nearly as fun.

I get it. That's probably what sells. But that's not what makes good board games.

I disagree, but that’s totally fair.

I'm honestly surprised a $175 board game was funded THAT quickly.

That’s the big collectors edition with all the bells and whistles, though. The game itself is less than half of that. That said, I’m personally surprised that the collectors edition is getting that many backers.

CMON, yes, which is why I don't own Smog, Arcadia Quest, Hate, Fire and Ice, Rising Sun, Rum & Bones, Kaosball, Rivit Wars, NOTLD, BSeiged...

Please don't assume that just because someone posts on reddit, they don't actually have a valid view. I've been backing KSer boardgames since 2012 from what I can see and regardless of that, the conversion into GBP just doesn't quite make DRG look worth it to me. Which is a shame, as I'd love to support you all - that's why I own all game DLC even if I never use the cosmetics.

It's also why (as a mini painter) I didn't back the Duncan Rhodes paint set recently - though I REALLY wanted to. There were literally no external reviews of the range.

I wasn’t assuming, but the implied wink was probably not obvious. I’ve backed a bunch of CMON kickstarters, but mostly based on value of content and theme, sometimes on the designer, and a few times on hype alone 😅 It’s absolutely a fair stance to want reviews before taking the plunge, and I assume that CMONs pipeline is set up to be able to deliver a complete sample product to reviewers before the campaign - we’re a wee bit smaller in comparison, and factory samples cost an arm and a leg to get done when you’re not doing it yourself, so they’ve opted for previews instead.

As a boardgamer who has backed a lot of KSers (looking at you CMON) this seems mighty expensive for what you get and with zero reviews... hmmm. Just, hmmm.

Real talk though, have you ever backed a CMON kickstarter based on reviews? Adding to that, since the game rules are still getting small tweaks and hasn’t entered production, it’s. kinda hard to do a proper review, but we did send some factory samples out for previews, like this one from Dice Tower, where Mark called it his favorite preview yet. ...

That's totally fine - a physical product costs quite a bit. $200 is not bad at all compared to most board games with minis. Like the CMON board games - their most recent campaign was $130 for base level up to $600+ for the 'all in' (without shipping).

And the 175 is for the Collectors Edition with a lot of addons. You can enjoy the game fine with the $75 version.

Coil gun? What an odd thing to name a rail gun. Honestly with that name I was expecting some electric shock thing (like you know, Tesla coil?) but this looks pretty good.

Coil guns and rail guns are similar in functionality.

I'm sorry, I can't see a DRG board game being actually successful, the game doesn't seem like it would translate well to a board game, but whatever. Feels more like a cash grab. Unfortunate.

That's okay because I can. :D

and it seems you have to 3d print the figures yourself?

even the lowest tier is $75 which is still too much.

annnnnd that's not counting shipping.

I'll wait til it's actually out and I've seen a decent review of it. there's just no way it's gonna be worth that much.

No, the miniatures are included. As a bonus, you get the STL-files, so you can 3D print them too.
