I had a discussion with Falcon a month or so ago where he simply ignored most of what people were saying with regards to the blackout changes, continued to push it publicly, and pretty much clapped on the blackout enthusiasts telling people to quit.
I've actually been talking quite a bit about the blackout with people on both sides of the fence.
Personally I like it for hunting purposes being pirate and all, but I can see the argument for there being no counterplay to have the same level of intelligence that's been in the game for the last sixteen years.
It's a super polarizing change for sure, and I do believe there needs to be an intelligence system in place, just not one that's as black and white as literally listing everyone in the system in a chat channel.
As with everything in EVE, you should have to work a little for your intel. Not being able to do so right now isn't optimal - I agree with that. Needs to be a middle ground.
Of course, anyone who disagrees with the blackout simply takes this as me frothing at the mouth and hating anyone who mines or does PvE.

Does this just remove the log entry, or does this mean the data is no longer sent to the client? If only the former, then presumably anyone inspecting memory directly in EVE client can still see this happening.
The data is indeed no longer sent to the client, so it is safe also if someone decides to break the EULA.

I know you're allowed to still play the game on a fresh account after joining the company, provided you don't reveal your identity. Obviously no insider trading, but I doubt any CCP employees are hardcore invested enough in the actual game for that to be an issue.
But like, are there general guidelines on corps you're allowed to join? No null-sec blocs, etc? Strictly no voice comms? I would recognize CCP Fozzie/Raivi's voice instantly from when I was in PL with him.

There's a few of us out there playing, and more of us than you'd think out in null, we just don't show our faces and voices much.
Personally I'm not out in null, although I venture there for some of my PvP fix.
I tend to stick to low/high and abyssal space because I don't get as much time as I used to to play - my BF is a pretty hardcore gamer so we spend a lot of time splitting our efforts between a few titles that we can play together.
I have the same problem in EVE - I can't do voice given how much I've been on stage for CCP. I'd be outed instantly and that's not a place you want to be, because you just get spammed and harassed in game to the point where you can't play.
Out of curiosity, are you allowed to keep it plexed and training, without playing on it, so that if you part ways with CCP you can pick up where you left off and not be 7 years behind on updated skills and such?

We actually considered Houston for a while but decided on San Diego this time around.
Could be on the cards for 2021 though for sure, I'm also a fan of hosting something in Austin for sure, but we'll have to see what happens.

EDIT: Actually I feel like in order to become a CCP dev you must spend 2 weeks in nullsec - 1 week in Horde standing and the other week in Theta standing / comms. Baptism by fire.
I spent a decade in low and null before I came to CCP.
