With Ryan Red & Baylix attending gamescom 2022 this year, we missed the mark with our Iggy & Scorch content release. We always want to release a new hero with their usual build-up of hype, but with how things lined up, we weren't able to get everything done that we wanted to by our internal deadline. Bug Fixes
  • Fixed an issue allowing players to rent hero skins for heroes they did not own.
  • Fixed an issue with not being able to trade in draft with rented heroes.
  • Fixed an issue with exclusive fragments not being able to be used to rent, or combine unto the full product without the item in store.
  • Fixed an issue with Cores using more keys then intended.

Patch 0.17.0 will launch 07/17/22 for testing purposes before the free-to-play launch. Downtime will begin 7:00pm EST and is expected to be down for 2 hours. This DOES NOT mean the game will be free-to-play until the original planned date of 07/18/22. The exact time is still to be confirmed but we will announce everywhere once it's live.

PLEASE NOTE: The game will be free-to-play on BOTH Steam and EGS. It is not exclusive to EGS only.

Economy Update
With patch 0.17.0 we have completely changed how the economy works in Fault.
We felt that with the previous system, the game did not feel rewarding enough for the average player. This complete rework removes the mark system and replaces it with Cores, these cores can be redeemed for fragments which allow you to unlock many different items found within the store. Below we have taken the time to fully explain this new system to our community.‍

We have been hard at work on many different things while we stayed fairly quiet, and today we want to share some big news with you all!

Developer Stream For those who may have missed it, we held a large developer stream yesterday to announce many topics that we will discuss in today's blog. We have added the YouTube video below for those who could not make it can view the entire stream including the Q&A.

GAME MECHANICS Raptor Rework ‍
After receiving a lot of feedback about how Raptor feeling unrewarding to take compared to other objectives on the map, we are now introducing a new Raptor system that intends to give it an identity outside of the favor system. Raptor will now grant four buffs, with the buffs received depending on how many raptors the killing team has taken. These buffs are team wide and will stay with the player for the duration of the game, while still giving a reduced amount of teamwide favor. We have also added in an endgame raptor intended to help teams finish out prolonged games, called the Alpha Raptor. GENERAL Optimization With this patch, we have taken another step towards optimizing Fault with a memory and map pass. As always, we will continue to take feedback regarding player experience and work to improve the feel for all players as needed.
Skins We have built the foundation for implementing skins with their own VFX and SFX.

GAME MECHANICS General Low Health Camera Effect
  • Reduced the low health camera effect so that it takes up less of the screen, based on player feedback.
Damage Taken Indicator
  • Changed the damage taken indicator around the players crosshair to only show when a turret or an enemy hero damages the player.
  • Duration of the indicator showing up reduced from 2 -> 1.5 seconds.
