This already looked spectacular on stage at gamescom during the cosplay contest (again, congratulations!), but the setting really adds another dimension to it. Can't wait to see your next creation at gamescom next year!

I'm collecting information about that right now to forward. Thanks for the tag and sorry for not giving a more exhaustive answer - today is unsurprisingly a bit more busy than usual.

While I dig the art style, the WAR-dragora worries me a little. We may need to have a word with the Alchemists' Guild about steroids...

As a general guideline, you usually don't need a guide to get you started with the game. If you have never before brought a class up through the levels, I would advise against a skip potion, and simply play your chosen class/job to max level.

FFXIV goes great lengths to teach you gameplay and your chosen job. You'll start out slow and the game takes you by the hand, especially at the beginning. There are also Guildhests, which are trials that show you the basics of group play, and there is the Hall of the Novice, where you can learn anything you need to know about a job.

As others have mentioned, if you want to make your character look pretty, there's the glamour system for that - you can exchange the appearance of most items you're wearing with all other items of the same class that you could theoretically wear. Also, a lot of equipment can be dyed with a huge number of dyes and metallic dyes.

How long it would take depends entirely on your play style.

Thanks for pointing out the inconsistency about the Starter Edition. That's a mistake on our behalf. Unfortunately we can't edit the lodestone article until Monday.

To clarify: Only the items listed on the ShopTo campaign site are available during the campaign.

Sorry for any confusion caused!

No worries. Hearing that, it might also be the CPU that is clogged up by something. Especially virus scanners tend to be very CPU intensive while they scan and access the system bus while playing. Some/most virus scanners also check every file that gets loaded into the RAM, and if that takes a while (for instance because the virus scanner is currently scanning a large file in the background), it could theoretically also cause these symptoms. So that may also be worth looking into!

That sounds very weird, as if the game can't load the required animations/textures from memory. I would suggest running both HDD tests and RAM tests. You can also try to run FFXIV from the 1TB HDD instead of the SSD to see if that fixes the issues, but if I remember correctly, that would require a reinstall (not sure, apologies!).

You system certainly looks like it should be able to easily handle the game, even if the 3770k is over 5 years old at this point.

Hi there,

Can you please make sure to post this on the existing thread on the official forums? I have only had one other report since the fix, so it may be a freak error, but I'll of course mention it!
