I still have my inventory/storage, but could part of this bug be actually retaining what you have in the inventory and storage, but nothing new being accrued during farming? I just want to make sure I'm understanding all of these buggy issues...

Correct, this is a safety measure that prevented further loss of player inventory. This measure was only in place for a short time as we were deploying the server fixes. Items farmed weren't saved.. but neither were traps and ammo spent.

You’re scaring me Magyst. You make it sound like trapping is a bad, unintended way to play here.

Definitely not meaning anything negative here (I promise!). I was just referring to that specific play style.

Hey everyone,

We wanted to give an update on where we’re at with the inventory wipe issue.

What happened?

Shortly after 11.40 launched we saw a single report of a player reporting loss of backpack and storage inventory. At the time, this seemed likely related to the server performance issues that also surfaced with the release.

We focused efforts on increasing server resources and fixing an underlying memory bug to make sure that these server-wide issues were resolved. Additionally, we deployed a server patch with additional protection against the backpack and storage wipes, independent of the server performance fix.

The inability to build is a direct result of loss of backpack inventory and both are rare instances that impacted less than .01% of the player base.

The inability for impacted players to save changes to their backpack, meaning items farmed would not save to your inventory or items used would not be consum...

We've seen the concerns around this specific topic, especially with the most recent discussion threads on combat score + rewards. We're making some further adjustments in 12 to help accommodate players who get matched with trappers. We definitely want to prevent players from leeching... but we also want to prevent players from intentionally edging out other players from getting rewards by trap spamming.

Hey u/oxxide_ Quick question, do you get the same behavior going to BR and then switching over to StW or are you just launching StW first and only?

I have done this with player support. This has been on-going since the update. Perhaps I'm just being impatient? Just it's been 4 days since the Fortnite Update. It's not that Player Support hasn't replied as they have and they said they are investigating.

Just that it's been 4 days and I miss playing and Streaming Save The World! Happy to send you logs here too? Maybe it's best for me to wait it out, I'm not sure. But I do know my partner isn't the only one experiencing the issue, I've seen it a bit on Twitter and here on reddit the last few days..

I cleared the logs and reopened STW for a fresh log. Here is the link

If you are on PC and having issues logs would be of great help to determine the cause. You would need to first open StW and have whatever issue is going on occur. Once it happens you can follow the following steps and and send your logs.

  1. Exit the Fortnite Application.
  2. Navigate to C:\Users\\AppData\Local\FortniteGame\Saved\Logs.
  1. Zip your Logs folder and attach the zip file to your ticket with Player Support.
