Hey Aaron, thanks for all your constant support man! The only request I have left is having a 'reset build edit' option. I can't tell you how many times my ogre fingers click the stick in a build battle and I rotate my ramps, and end up dying due to it. Just make an option to have it revert to default just like the option to revert back to the wall piece in combat pro.

Making sure I understand. You want an option that resets your build piece rotation to default after you go out and back in to build mode?

How about the controllers deadzone? Will we be able to change those?

Reading these comments, it seems as though, we need to consider this a little more seriously. When we adjusted the deadzone sizes we had hoped that it was fixed. It appears that we need to talk about this more and figure out how/when we can get this done.

Is there an option for PTT added to the controller binding?? That would be AMAZING!

This is the first time that I've seen this request. This version does not have PTT (Push-To-Talk) as an action to bind. Out of curiousity, where would you put it?

Will we be able to create multiple custom configurations, maybe even be able to name them?

Not in this version. I'm curious, what's the use case for this type of functionality?

Look at the 3rd image in the post. In the Actions list there is an Edit and Repair. Those are not hold actions. You can put them where you want.

Heya,

Aaron from Epic here to talk to you folks about controllers and our plans for enabling you to play how you want. Just on the horizon are Custom Controls landing in the v6.0 update, which will let you modify your setup as you wish!

Custom Control Flow

The way you’ll be selecting the configuration has changed to a selector on the left side of the menu. After selecting Custom, the right side of the menu becomes buttons that are selectable. When a button is clicked, it opens a list of actions that can be assigned to that button.

Mode selection (Combat, Build) has changed to selectable by triggers. When you’re in a mode, the actions for that mode and actions that span between modes will show in the actions list to select from.

The idea here is to make a system that is easy to use and can be built upon with more functionality in later releases, if needed.

Why not just set the combat pro to 0.15 as well it would make no difference whatsoever besides making the playing field even. Builder pro already has the advantage of building quicker as seen by most so why handicap combat pro players even more? also I practice my edits every single morning u think I want to have to re-time my edits after ppl on builder pro have already gotten used to it? Not one bit, please take this into consideration.. there is people playing for money and giving people with builder pro even more of an advantage is simply not fair.

We totally understand and it wasn't meant to give an advantage over another, just trying things out. We plan on making this an adjustable value in a coming update. Then everyone will be able to make it the value they want for the configuration they use.

Heya folks,

We’ve heard your feedback on Audio and have some updates! Tactical audio cues are incredibly important to the core gameplay, and our goal is for you to be able to consistently rely on audio information to survive. Here are some things we’re starting to develop and test internally:

Season 6 - v6.00
  • Footstep sounds
    • More contrast between above/below steps.
      • We want this to be easier to determine on the fly, especially while other sounds are playing (gunfire, harvesting, etc).
    • More high frequency audio content to improve your ability to pinpoint the location of steps, and to prevent them from getting drowned out during intense combat.
  • Glider audio tells
    • Increased awareness when an enemy is gliding in your vicinity.
      • Doppler-based glider audio for incoming threats. This will create that “car passing by” effect when a player ...

What’s up Fortnite community,

With Season 6 right around the corner, competition is about to heat up! Details about the Fall Skirmish below.

Beginning in October, we’re opening up inclusive competition, where everybody can play and compete. To make that possible we’ve had to harden and scale our systems and infrastructure. For example, August was Fortnite’s biggest month yet, with 78.3 million of you showing up to play. This exposed weak points and allowed us to make targeted improvements to critical systems, such as stats and servers. The Summer Skirmish also, as you all probably noticed, highlighted problems with performance and spectating, which we’ve been working on ever since. We’re excited about kicking off the new competition system and we’ll have details dropping in the weeks ahead.

On to the Fall Skirmish! In our ...

Heya folks,

We’re kicking off our Fall Skirmish next weekend awarding $10,000,000 in prize money across a 6-week series concluding at Twitchcon, October 26-28.

The new approach for Fall Skirmish will include both Competitive and Entertainment play formats. We’re looking to incorporate some of these new formats into our large-scale events in 2019. During Fall Skirmish, players will proudly represent themed teams and earn points based on their performances in both play formats. Each week will pose new challenges like white-knuckle ATK races, masterful golf outings, mini-games, and of course high skill competition every weekend.

Nearly 500 Fortnite community members earned cash prizes during the Summer Skirmish and we can’t wait to grow that number during Fall Skirmish. Keep an eye out for a follow-up blog next week for our week 1 format and team announcements. When we’re closer to TwitchCon we’ll drop all the details on the finale’s competitive format, a... That's pretty much it though, we both have seen it in different ways and now we need our God EPIC to come tell us the truth ;D /u/AaronAtEpic pls save us!

Thanks for adding me to this.

The sensitivity change is indeed intentional. We are planning on going back to the smaller increments though very soon.

On the subject of the aim assist, I was directly involved in that and we could not reproduce it. So what we ended up doing was talking with those users offline and eventually had to hard reset their settings. If this is still an issue please report it to our customer service and we may be able to fix it for you. We honestly didn't think this was wide spread and that we had dealt with the handful that had the issue.

After the hurricane I'll have a discussion with really smart people on what we can do here to get everyone back to a reset aim assist setting.

We totally agree. We're going to change this to switch to the intended piece but also try to place it at the same time. If there is outcry from other users then we'll have to temporarily turn it off and create an option for it but we're hoping that won't be necessary.

This change will be in a patch after 5.41.

Let me apologize for the misunderstanding then. We work on a slightly different release schedule than what is seen as the next patch to the public. I should have been more specific in my wording since the patch you received today was already in the process of being certified, which means no new changes were being made at that time. The change will be in the patch after this one that you just received.
