Sorry, that one isn’t intuitive right now and we’ll work on improving the clarity of stat interactions. The mechanics guide that we are building in-game should help and we’ll also discuss more ways to have this communicated better in-line.

Howdy!

Unique items are intended to have either affixes - or at the very least, combinations of affixes - which you cannot find on Rare items. While many affixes are balanced individually to be made available in the pool of affixes which items can roll randomly, some are too powerful for this, and thus must be balanced as part of an entire item. The intention is not for Unique items to be superior to Rare items, but to offer more choice and to enable new builds.

Item Sets are a natural evolution of Uniques. They take the concept of finding ways to permit powers too powerful to be made available normally; they come with a higher opportunity cost than Unique items, but come with modifiers not even a Unique item can offer.

Rare items are designed to be the bread and butter of equipment in Last Epoch. Unlike higher rarity items, they can be crafted upon to be made better - if their owner accepts the inherent risks involved with doing so, of course. In the same patch...

Hi there,

Please try changing your resolution, then changing it again.

Time is one of the central themes of Last Epoch’s story.

As you travel through time, you get to see first-hand how the events which occur have changed the world of Eterra. This is something we leverage when designing quests, zones, and enemies. In a future patch we will be adding the Fallen Osprix to certain Imperial Era zones.

In the Divine Era the Osprix were the proud servants of Rahyeh, the god of sky and fire, but with Rahyeh’s death their place in the world was put at risk. As the Immortal Empire embraced the powers of undeath, the Osprix were pushed further and... Read more

Hey guys, sorry if we don’t respond at times. The analysis that @ReimerhArts has provided is much appreciated and we’ve actually already had a small discussion on it internally. We acknowledge that some stats aren’t scaling well late game, that it is a problem, and we have some ideas that aren’t ready to be discussed yet publicly.

I’ll ask the team to acknowledge these threads more especially if we even bring it up as an internal meeting topic. Thanks again for the feedback guys!

Hey folks, got another update for you.

We’ve collaborated with our partner and got the Launcher working on Fedora. The workaround, consisting of downloading and running another small file, will still be required - however it won’t be necessary to play the game through Steam - both clients should work.

Unfortunately due to it being Sunday not everyone is available, and I’ll need to leave the house pretty soon myself. I expect we should be able to release both the Launcher update, and the separate download, sometime this week. I’ll be sure to post updates here as I get them.

I haven’t had an opportunity to test on other distros yet. I’ll try to find some time - and space! - to at least test on openSUSE early next week to check whether the fix helps other distros.

Apologies for the lack of communication on this as we work on both this and other issues!

Here’s a quick update on where we are;

  • I have been testing on Fedora 30 and I have Last Epoch working.

Here’s the road ahead and where we stand;

  • I plan to make a small file downloadable (possibly just a shell script) which resolves the issue. This should not need to be run more than once. I haven’t created this yet. What it does and why will be either explained by it or on a support article.
  • I have not yet been able to get the launcher for the standalone client working on Fedora. We are unlikely to resolve this in the short-term, so I would advise that anyone affected play through Steam. If you bought outside of Steam, you can ...

We’re not ready to discuss the full details of how class specific items will work in Last Epoch.

However I can confirm that we are currently planning for there to be armour and weapons that are specific to individual base classes and mastery classes.
