I know traditionally the collegiate league has been separated by regions, but are there thoughts of doing a "Top 25" ranking poll kind of like college football? Or to move into other formats like a "March Madness" style tournament?

We did a Top 25 Coaches Poll in 2017, but participation from coaches was extremely low. We'd like to revisit it in the future though and have some ideas on how to do it better the next time.

Can clol create unique invitational/live regional matches along with esport college coordinators for more unique experiences outside of the formal rp tournament event request format. Higher prize pool, swag giveaway, tickets to NALCS spring finals?

Unfortunately, we don't have any plans to create officially sanctioned invitational or live regional matches. There are some legal implications that make this a complicated subject, and not where we think we can add the most value across the board.

We do recognize some of the short comings with the current CLoL format, and we think some of what you're looking for can be further addressed through continued conference expansion. We've already signed 2 new conferences this year, East Coast Conference and Landmark Conference, who are joining the Big Ten Network and Peach Belt Conference, and we think these partnerships will help create those local events and incentives that will help build stronger communities on campus.

I'm so excited for this skin and keeping my mouth shut was very VERY hard.

Hey /u/j_u_n_h_y_u_k, Player Support here. This is one of those situations where we're usually able to hook you up; that policy shouldn't be so strict. We'll be getting in touch with you shortly via the ticket you opened soon, keep an eye out!

Not to disagree with your sentiment, but doesn't the misleading naming of the orbs somewhat contradict what you're saying? The naming of the orbs is akin to what gacha based games do, with event specific lootboxes/gachas.

Yeah it’s not perfect. We want the orbs to be themed with the event so that the whole thing is feels cohesive, but that risks a little extra confusion. Tradeoffs :/

But we’ve never seen a ton of confusion so I feel okay about it.

I disagree.

I'm probably not one to talk about this since I've not done more than cursory research into things like gacha business models, and Riot does have extra worlds tokens to spice the orb packets, but having a sea of potential outcomes (skins with no rate-ups) will never fly in other gacha models.

What happens instead is that the average player would hesitate to buy the orbs to 'roll' for the skins. It can of course be argued that you could just buy the skins you want, instead of having rate-ups. But the entire gambling aspect of lootboxes relies on you thinking that orbs are less 'expensive' than just straight up buying the skins, and having rate-ups 'trick' the player into buying more.

That’s exactly what we don’t want. Loot in league isn’t supposed to be a gacha. If you want a skin, you should just buy it. We always want that to be the clear, best option. If you enjoy rolling and/or want some very limited, exclusive rare content, then go for loot. It gives you a discount if you would be happy with any of a bunch of skins. But it’s not for you if you want a specific one.

No bad intent here... we don't even put developer credits on our own game ;-)

Now, we love the Fortiche team! We have built strong relationships with them over the years, starting with the Jinx music video, and now RISE and K/DA.

Not planning to stop working with such a talented team. Looks like League players love their work as much as we do.

Thanks for translating! I love listening to anything Apdo has to say. Pretty interesting that he hasn't met a new talent since Season 4 -- I wonder how much of that is tied to rose-tinted glasses + him naturally getting better (and thus everyone else feeling relatively worse).

hey hey! Sound designer here (sorry for being late). Thanks for the comments - I did end up changing the SFX based off some feedback. It's in the second video on the original link to this!

I'm pretty close to the second one but it wasn't too clear whether we'd keep progressing towards it or not. Thanks!

Yes! The VP from this beta will progress the same VP track as the previous ones, so earning the next level of banners is possible.

Our goal for these tests are to validate the changes we've been working on in the last few months to make Clash a stable experience. We had a huge response in Brazil, and got way more teams than we expected, and the part of the system that failed last time went better. The bad news is, that uncovered another problem further down the line, resulting in the platform getting crushed under the load despite our efforts to stagger game starts. This is exactly why we're doing these betas so we can be better prepared for launch. If you're interested in more info, check out the thread in BR forums.

We have solid next steps to address the issues we saw in BR yesterday and we're excited for the NA test tomorrow.

Hey we're pushing back the start time to 6 pm. Normally we'd have two flights of tournaments, at 5 and 7pm but since we're doing one for the one-day beta, we hope 6pm is going to work better for players on both coasts.
