We wanted to keep you updated on a list of known issues affecting the game. This is not a complete list of all currently tracked issues affecting Overwatch 2, rather this is a targeted list of some known specific issues with this release.

We’ve created Overwatch 2 as a new, free to play experience for new and returning players. Pick from our cast of 35 incredible heroes and team up in epic 5v5 action on 22 global maps across 6 distinct modes. Whether you like to lead the charge, ambush enemies, or aid your allies, there’s a hero for you.
As we prepare to welcome new and returning heroes with the launch of Overwatch 2 on October 4th, we have a quick update about forum access post launch.
At launch, access to discussion channels will only be available to players who previously owned Overwatch. Anyone with a valid Overwatch license, including those who bought the Watchpoint pack before October 4th, will continue to be able to access all discussion channels. We will be adding functionality in an upcoming update that will grant forum access to new players based on reaching certain milestones in-game. Anyone with a Battle.net account will continue to have access to the Technical-Support and Bug-Report channels, to report any issues with installing or playing Overwatch 2, in addition to our regular support tickets through the Customer Support Portal.

The new Overwatch 2 client should use your existing files, so there is no need to uninstall, however, you need at least 50 GB of free space to run Overwatch.

We’re currently experiencing a delay in the pre-download for existing PC players. Our current estimates are that the pre-download should be online within the next few hours. Our apologies for anyone this may have inconvenienced, and we’ll update this thread once the service is available.
Basically, we recently updated our system with Twitch, so most players will discover their account link is no longer intact. This is the first promotion we are running with this new system.
If you see your Twitch username in your connections list on account.battle.net/connections, you are good to go. See my image above as an example.
When it comes to product licenses received those are still separated by region, which has nothing to do with playing the game on different datacenters even if you use a VPN. You will still access your cosmetics on your account when you log in.
To verify if your account is linked you can check at account.battle.net/connections.

When Overwatch 2 launches on October 4th, Workshop development tools will be temporarily unavailable as the team is still putting some finishing touches on this feature. Our goal is to have the scripting interface Workshop tool back up and running in a future game update, date to be announced. Your current valid Workshop and custom game codes from Overwatch will still work, so please be sure to save any custom game modes/codes that you’d like to bring with you to Overwatch 2

PVE is definitely not canceled.
While we are still working on our core PVE modes that we will be releasing later, there will be a taste of what we have in store coming up with our new Halloween Terror event, Junkenstein’s Revenge: Wrath of the Bride, that we teased in our Battlepass Trailer.
Flotaku said it best, there really is no way for the game to determine when a person leaves due to an accidental disconnection or power outage versus someone who could fake those issues in order to abuse any loopholes. We also don’t want players playing Competitive if they are frequently encountering issues either, and they should take time to fix and thoroughly test in low-stake modes like Quick Play that those issues are resolved. This is why the starting penalty is relatively small but will quickly ramp up. If a player continues to ignore their technical issues and continue to leave games, the result can be a suspension from Competitive Play for the remainder of the season, which will result in the loss of all end-of-season rewards. Hope this information helps, and I hope your technical issues will resolve soon.
