re: if extraction doesn't exclusively startup using Vulkan, then I suppose this post can just be ignored. I am under the impression it does use Vulkan though, so sorry in advance if I'm wrong.

I'm assuming the reason I'm getting the dreaded black screen crash on extraction is because of Vulkan (considering Siege crashes similarly when I start it using Vulkan). Is there any possible way to run it using DX instead of Vulkan? I've looked through the game files, used the -dx11 launch argument (which I'm guessing doesn't work anymore or never did), tried opening all of the .exe Extraction applications and..... nothing. So now I'm questioning whether it's even possible to use Direct X at all with this new R6 or if this post is futile. Once again, maybe I'm wrong about Extraction only using Vulkan to launch, but just in case it does I'm open to any suggestions on how to change it or start it using DX.

Thanks

Hey there @lavaper and @shaggytoph , thanks very much for your posts about this. I'm sorry to hear you've had trouble starting Extraction up with DirectX. I'll be happy to help - after all, we fully intend for you to be able to run Extraction through Direct X. We don't - I was incorrect on this - but please read below for relevant troubleshooting!

Other players have noted that updating your graphics card drivers solves this issue. You'll find instructions on how to do this in our troubleshooting guide. While you are there, please also make sure you've updated your operating system, you've verified the game files, and you don't have any unnecessary background programs interfering with the game.

If the issue persists, please let me know - I'll be happy to help further!
