thinking the maintenance to be done by 12:30 est I tried updating the extraction
but now i am stuck in an update bug where it says "ubisoft conncect is unable to start your download"
I have enough space and have a internet that is working fine. I have tried reconnecting to uplay but its the same

Hey! Sorry to hear you both are running into this. Try closing out Ubisoft Connect and reopening it again to see if you get the same message. If so, try waiting a few minutes and try the same steps again. Keep us posted here if you continue to see the same results.

If you've tried relaunching Ubisoft Connect again and still receive the same error, there can be a few causes in receiving this error message. I would first check to see if your Ubisoft Connect client is set to run Administrator Rights. I would also ensure that the launcher and Rainbow Six Extraction are installed on the same hard drive. This may cause issues with updates installed on two separate drives. You will also want to make sure you have enough space on your hard drive if this error continues to show up. Finally, if you have tried this too, try reinstalling Ubisoft Connect to ensure you have the latest version installed.

Thank you for trying those suggestions out, and sorry this is still ongoing for everyone here. To help relay this to the team to further look into, could you please get a screenshot of the error you are currently seeing when downloading the update?
