Original Post — Direct link

Hi,

I've got an ultrawide monitor (Samsung G9, 5120x1440, 32:9 aspect ratio) but the ingame overlay barely works when in full screen.
When I'm in siege playing an actual game the overlay works somewhat decent but it's still quite unresponsive.
After the game ends and I want to check on the progress of challenges for example it just plain doesn't work, sometimes it opens sometimes it doesn't.
Other times it just stays on top of the menu with half the screen invisible because it's hidden behind the overlay.

However, when switching to another resolution (not ultrawide) and putting the game in windowed mode (e.g. 1920x1440) everything works perfectly.
Could some effort be put into fixing this? This has been an issue ever since the new Ubisoft Connect has been launched and was never an issue on Uplay.
There's something really off about the scaling and just overall implementation.

Thanks 🙂

Hi @thnq I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with the overlay on your ultra wide monitor.

Could you please provide some screenshots as examples of this issue and I will forward these on to the Ubisoft Connect team to investigate.

@thnq Thanks for the images provided.

Can you confirm if the issue with the overlay sometimes not opening or responding in 5120x1440 only occurs in Rainbow Six Siege or does it also occur in other games as well?

If you have not tested this would you be able to test with another game if possible.

@thnq Thanks for the update.

And yes if you could test it in another game that would be great thanks 🙂

@thnq Thanks for checking some other titles for us! To check another location, could you confirm the graphics card you are using, if it's an Nvidia or AMD card?

@thnq Thanks for the update! I wanted to gather further information to check if you were on Nvidia or AMD. In the Nvidia Control Panel, does your resolution setting currently match your full-screen resolutions in-game? I also wanted to check if you have dual or multiple monitors connected with the different resolutions set?

Hey there @ThnQ

Thanks for your reports on this issue so far.

I can confirm the team are aware of issues with the Overlay on ultrawide monitors and are working to resolve this issue as soon as possible. We do apologise for any inconvenience caused in the meantime.

Hey @thnq

I'm afraid not, we generally only hear about what is included in an update just before one is released.

Hello there @ThnQ!

I've taken a look into the investigation into the Ubisoft Connect overlay on ultra-wide monitors, and it looks like the team have deployed an update which should have helped to alleviate this issue. There should be some scrollbars to help access content that may have previously been unavailable to access due to the ultrawide resolution.

It sounds like you're still experiencing some issues with the overlay, and I'm sorry to hear this. To help us to look into this further, could you provide us with some new screenshots? The ones you provided earlier were created some time ago now, and having up-to-date images is helpful for investigation.

If you could also provide another recording, that would be helpful as well!

Just to clarify - which parts of the overlay are you unable to access? You mention in your original post that you have trouble checking the progress of challenges, and you've also shared that you have trouble accepting invites. Are there other features of the overlay you're unable to use?

Thanks! 😊
