Hi all,

I have been playing ranked a lot this seasson and I started to notice that I get placed on Orange team a lot. It got to the point that I had to start keeping track of team placement. The result at the moment is that out of 61 games I have been placed on orange team 59 times! That adds up to over 96% propability of getting placed on orange team. I would imagine it should be in 50% range rather than 96%. At the moment I'm on a streak of 29 games on orange team and I estimate a 96% propability that the count will go up

This statistic covers playing ranked solo and with 1 or 2 friends. When my friends play without me they get normal statistics regarding team placement, but when they team up with me they get sucked into the same limbo that I'm in.

Anyone else experience this kind of issue with team placement? I had a chat with Ubi support and they told me that team placement should be automatic, which should by all reason give a very close to 50% chance of either team, but this just isn't the case for me. I'm really stuck in a limbo for some reason!

Wow, Luoppis. I've got to say, this does sound very strange! Team placement certainly should be randomized, and I haven't really had anyone report this to me otherwise. I know you said the statistic is drawn from playing Ranked, but could you let me know if you've noticed that you experience dominant orange-placement in other modes too?

Hey Luoppis,

Thanks for your response there and welcome to forums!

I do believe this will happen to others players too and it won't always remain the 50/50 balance, so it should change eventually for you, however it is indeed a very interesting find you have and it doesn't look like this has been brought up in the past.

I would recommend you to keep an eye on this, as maybe you just got really lucky there, however this may also indicate in a possibility of an issue, so see how it goes, and we will keep an eye on the thread!

I do have the game installed on a standard SSD drive, but I don't think faster loading times should have an effect on team placement. And it really is just a basic SSD so there's a lot of people out there whose setup is way faster than mine on loading times.
Thank you for the additional information, it is indeed very interesting.

Please do let us know how you get on going forward

I never really noticed, but I wonder if this curse has been haunting me even longer than just this season.
Thank you very much for providing these stats. I have asked the Rainbow Six: Siege team about this and once we have an update we will get back to you.

Thanks!

Hey Luoppis, thank you for getting back to us and thank you to your friend for joining the conversation also.

I would like to ask the team to look into your account directly as it seems a bit of an anomaly why this only seemingly affects you, we haven't really come across this behaviour with any players or at least it has not been reported to us other than in this very thread as far as I am aware.

Could you please tell us which location you live in / which data server you are connected to and what data server or location your friends play in who occasionally team up with you please?

Could you also tell us who your ISP is and if you use any sort of VPN? I will need to gather more information on top of what you have already given us in the form of statistics to present to our QA team.
