Hello!

Welcome to the official kickoff of the Chapter 2 previews and we're going to start off with three days of talents.

For this release, our goal with talents was two-fold:

  • We want to increase the number of viable builds.
  • We want to shake things up.

To that end, we’ve made the following changes:

  • Talents now cost between 1 and 4 points (up from 3).
  • Players now have 7 total points to spend (up from 6).
  • There are now 7 talents per category (up from 6).

Body

1 cost:

Tough (New)

  • Max Armor: +10/12/15/25

2 cost:

Dexterity (Updated)

  • Run Speed +3
  • Levitation Mana Cost: -15/18/20/30%
  • Cost from 1 to 2
  • No longer gives Jump Height

Wellspring (New)

  • Mana Recharge Rate: +25%

If we chose to not use all 7 points, it would be cool if those unused points could be rewarded toward some minor generic buff, like 5 extra HP for every unused point or something like that. That would also open up a wider range of build options.

That's kinda what a talent like Tough is tbh. (Not quite the same as you can't do a 4-0-0 build and stack 3 points into a generic, but similar in practice.)

I'm not sure who you think our competitors are, so I can't say how Chapter 2 will compare to what their releases offer, but I can say that there are significant features coming in this release that we've been wanting to do for a long time now. Hopefully y'all will enjoy them!
