@Natt_budd For the same reason, any other game is or isn't supported. A video game needs to be viable from a business standpoint. It's the same calculation that's applied to our PC games too. As long as they can support themselves, they keep getting updates. :)
@chrismanolo The Console Edition starts out at the 1.7 version of the game. It already has 2 DLCs out and Utopia will follow this summer. Ideally we'd like to support it as long as PC edition, but it's too soon to make promises. Fingers crossed though!

@Aurelien_Sama Not in development currently. Even porting to more powerful hardware like PS4 and Xbox One meant us having to cut down on galaxy map size and maximum game speed.
Further optimization for the Switch would be very challenging.
