Someone just suggested the "Remnants" Origin is a good setup for a playthrough based on one of our precursors.

With the "Remnants" Origin, you'll be able to uncover some of your former empire's lost tech, giving you a jumpstart in the early game, with each "Ruined Arcology" blocker cleared.

With the "Remnants" Origin, you'll start on a Relic World. A fallen Ecumenopolis that is all that remains of the glory of your species' once glorious space empire.

Look to the stars again, but make sure to clear those blockers home too!
