Could you please copy the lines in your ZXLog when the game crash or refuse to start?

This file usually is in the path Documents/My Games/They are Billions. It's important that you copy the lines just after the game crashes and before launching the game again.

So you suffered the issue only with one saved game and you cannot load it? Every saved game has 2 files xxxx.zxsav y xxxx.zxcheck. Do you have both files?

Two new maps were added (The Deep Forest and the Caustic Lands) and probably you are playing on of them that is the first and the easiest one. After beating The Deep Forest you will be able to play The Dark Moorlands which was the first map previouly to the addition.
