I assume you mean "does not happen" ... ?

Did it happen when you were on 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 previously, before 1.1.3 came out?

No real idea what could cause that. Let's try a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere, and user_empire_designs.txt from /Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/ if you have made any custom empires or races.
- "uninstall" in Steam-Stellaris
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/Stellaris AND Documents/Paradox/Stellaris folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add stellaris.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular you need to make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam Stellaris or Documents Stellaris locations, before installing again.

Please try the following:

- unsubscribe from all mods
- delete the folder Documents/paradox/Stellaris/mod/
- delete the file Documents/paradox/Stellaris/mods_registry.json
- delete the file Documents/paradox/Stellaris/launcher-v2.sqlite
- subscribe to a few mods
- in the Steam betas tab for this game opt into the "stellaris_test" version which is 2.8.1
- run the game up and see if those mods are now available to you.

I hope that does it for you!

What happens if you disable Vsync in the game, and set the refresh cap to 60 ?

Other ideas I've seen include disabling autosave, and bloom in the video settings - any different?

That is a shame, very unusual for two copies of a game to be corrupted. Any mods in use here?

I'd suggest you turn autosaves on though ... !

Do you mind if I see a screenshot of that page?

But if for some reason the launcher needs o run as Admin in your machine, you can set that in properties-compatibility for the launcher files:

dowser.exe (in the Steam CK3 folder)
C:/users//AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/bootstrapper-v2.exe
C:/users//AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2.2020.14/paradox launcher.exe

Steam Verify cannot check a saved game file for integrity, only the game itself.

If the game crashes when loading a save , that save is either bugged or corrupted. Under Documents/paradox/ck3/ you should see last_save.ck3 , can you load that okay?

That still tends to point to an antivirus issue - you successfully added all three of those .exe files to the Ransomware feature exceptions, is that right?

However the game is not officially supported on any Intel video system on MacOS. So while it may well work at present, it cannot be guaranteed for the future (as happened with Imperator for instance).

In the Windows search box enter Ransomware. Enable Controlled Folder Access if disabled then add ck3.exe to the Apps Allowed Through list in there.

You may need to add steam.exe and C:/users//AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2.2020.14/paradox launcher.exe to that list.

DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

From your Documents/Paradox/CK3/logs/ folder, attach system.log , error.log

Are you on the current launcher version 2020.14 or something older?

They should be available to you like they are for everyone else. When did they disappear for you? Are there any mods in use here?

The game hasn't changed for a few weeks now, so I guess somethign else on your system changed or updated itself recently. Hard to guess hat though.

Maybe the nVidia driver? A slightly newer one just came out, so try that:

We had a few reports that this happened with autosaves - if you disable them does it go away?

Fairly clearly something is preventing the game from writing this file out. What antivirus app do you use?
