I'm aware. I just find that explaining that can make things more confusing, since unlocking the DLC content stills feels like adding a bunch of new buildings. And you aren't loading them if you don't have the DLC anyways, so for things like RAM usage it still practically works like adding them to the game. :)

Alright people, let's quit the insults and attempts to provoke each other. Feel free to discuss the game and things you wish were different, but disagreeing is not an excuse for going off on each other.

I can't remember if there's a guide, but it's similar to how you would update. When uploading you click the little folder icon, which opens where the preview image is and where the file you're uploading is. Then you just copy in the other items you want to include in the pack and upload like normal.

Depends on what you mean by "align props" - are you trying to align a prop to something else (like another prop or a building)? Or something different?

If it is running out of RAM, then increasing the pagefile to 16 or 32 GB will do the trick yes.

This is what makes mods either work or not work, no matter what DLCs you might have. And it is also who it's super easy to just add DLCs on as you go no matter what order they came in or how long ago they were relea... Read more

This is a bug in the launcher that will be fixed. It is supposed to remember that you accepted the agreement, but it isn't working right for some people. Annoying, but just a temporary thing we have to deal with.

No, props are decorative and don't really do anything. At most they can have cars parked (like parking lots) or people sitting on them (like benches).

If people can live in something, it is a building for sure.

This guide also covers a lot of the words you will meet on the workshop and explain the differences.

My best guess would be you're running out of RAM. 8 GB should be enough for just the basegame, but with stuff running in the background, that might be it. Did you have a popup mentioning a folder (numbers as the name)? That will have log files that can tell us what caused the crash.

You need to subscribe to the save on the workshop to update it. This guide explains how to update files on the workshop. The process is the same for saves, though ofc your save is stored in a different folder than local assets.

We need your log file to see what happens. This guide explains where to find it and suggests some sites you can upload it to, since you can't attach files here on Steam.

They are at the top. I've highlighted the places to enable/disable stuff - both all at once and individually.

No problem. :)

And to make it even more confusing, clicking the "Discussions" at the top takes you to General Discussions, while clicking the "Discussions" on the workshop front page takes you to the "Workshop" discussions, but totally doesn't have that shown at the top. I STILL get lost in the Workshop one from time to time and I've been here daily for 5 years. I swear Steam does this just to mess with us. :P

Deep breath, it's gonna be okay! *hug* If you have a savegame, then you can get everything back almost as it was. Cities: Skylines keeps track of what you were subscribed to when playing a save and it has a button to subscribe to everything again.

Start the game and go to the Content Manager from the Main Menu. Go to the Savegames and find your latest savegame. Then click the Subscribe All button and wait. This might take a long while. If the game crashes or it gets stuck on the process, just shut the game down and repeat until everything is subscribed again.

@bananaman1121: I'm really sorry you're having problems with the game. That absolutely sucks. :( How far do you get? Does the launcher show when you press Play in Steam? Or does nothing seem to happen? Have you tried following the steps in this post?

If you upload your log file we can take a look and hopefully help narrow down the problem.

This guide tells you where to find the file and suggest some sites you can upload it to in order to share it.

Yeah, it's very likely mod related. Not sure what's causing it though. :/

I noticed you have both Disable Zone Check and Plop the Growables. These mods are incompatible and break when used together. It isn't related to this problem, but you should pick one and remove the other.

You also don't nee Tree Brush when using Extra Landscaping Tools and Forest Brush.

For the problem you're having, I suggest unsubscribing both Extra Landscaping Tools and Surface Painter, then test if the default terraforming works. If the problem is gone, something is messing with ELT. If it's still there, it's a different mod breaking things (upload a new log if that's the case).

Hmm, that sounds like a new error. Try verifying game files by going to the library in Steam, right clicking on Cities: Skylines, select Properties, go to the tab named Local Files and click on Verify Integrity of Game Files. Let Steam do its thing and start the game again.

If you have errors again, upload the log again and drop a new link, so we can see if something has changed.
