Expedition League Lore: Creating the Kalguurans

In Path of Exile: Expedition League, we introduced the Kalguurans, a group of hardy adventurers from a distant continent. Our narrative designer, Matt Dymerski, has written an overview of creating them from a lore perspective.



This League, I was presented with a unique challenge in terms of creating Path of Exile content. The premise was fairly simple, but it was something we've never done before: there would be four entirely new types of merchant. We started with a Gambler, a Dealer, a Haggler, and one wildcard who would serve as the leader of this merry band.

At that time, the design team had also determined these NPCs would be bombing the terrain to uncover items and monsters. The question became: why are a group of merchants risking themselves in this manner? These are not the typical divas... Read more

Path of Exile: Royale Highlights from Twitch Rivals Event

Last week, we had our very first Path of Exile: Royale event hosted by Twitch Rivals. The event was a lot of fun to watch, so if you missed it, we've compiled a few of our favourite highlights from the event! Royale ends today, so if you haven't played it yet be sure to hop on to give it a go!

















We'd like to give a huge congratulations to Team Havoc616 and Waggle for their amazing first place run, as well as to all the other competitors for participating in the event. We'd also like to thank everyone for tuning in to watch the event with us!

Patch 3.15.0e and Royale Balance, Vendor Reroll Adjustments

Maybe I am just really unlucky, but considering how low the drop rate is currently, increasing it by 53% will do close to nothing. I got 3 Logbooks in ~200 maps. Which would be buffed to 4-5 Logbooks after this change. But again, maybe I just got really unlucky and others have gotten a lot more, in which case 53% will actually make a quantifiable difference.

Note that the increase in reroll currency should see a mild increase in Logbooks as people will have more opportunities to grab them from Dannig. It's also worth noting that they only come from Runic monsters so if you're not targeting these in your Expeditions, you won't be getting many logbooks. We will keep monitoring this feedback over the weekend to see how things stand.

if you are waiting for higher logbook drop rates you probably won't get them until after the weekend. if at all.

Good news! We're buffing the drop rates of Logbooks by 53%. We're hoping this will be live later today.
