Ingame HDR is off, tried switching it on and off but no change. How do you check if HDR is turned on in your system settings?
How do you turn HDR off? The option is greyed out in video settings (slider is stuck on green)
Go into your Windows settings/Nvidia control panel to do it there first.
So, JackFrags actually had this issue while playing and found that HDR was turned on in-game and in his system settings (despite not having an HDR monitor). I'd check that. I'm not sure if that was because he was on the latest drivers and hardware (RTX 3080), but it might be worth looking into.

for origin as well?? i purchased the game on origin, unknowingly unaware that the vr compatibility might only be with steam, i could have gone that route, but i hoped for a confirmation by now..
For most headsets, just install Steam VR on your PC and you'll be set! Oculus may not need it, though.
I meant "solo", as in "BF2 Instant Action" kind of solo. I suppose the "fleet battles" you talk about are customizable to some extent?
The most important thing to me is being able to play everything this game offers solo and , in some cases , entirely offline (crappy internet connection is a huge problem). I'm okay with rewards being only available online.
Then other than multiplayer itself and dogfights, you're good!
Just to properly set expectations, when you say “offline,” do you mean solo or entirely offline? A number of features require online play of some kind. So yes, you can play (entirely offline) against bots but you won’t earn rewards, so you’ll want to play with or against players to earn rewards, even just in co-op against AI.
Entirely offline, you can play the story, practise range, and vs AI Fleet Battles (though you'll only earn XP as a way to combat cheating).

My only current question is what happens post lvl 40 on the linear player level? Is it just bragging rights, or are there other rewards?
You'll still get Glory from levelling so you can keep unlocking cosmetics.
So obviously there will be huge advantages to having great teamwork. If using unweighted rank averages, do you have another way to address pre-made advantage?
Is there an active MM system that pairs, say, 3 + 2 premades vs. other 3+2 or 4+1?
Yup! The matchmaking will prioritise you facing similarly structured teams first.
u/EA_Charlemagne what factors play into how much skill rating you gain or lose is a match? Is it just win or lose or does your personal stats and ELO play into account?
It's a healthy mix of all of that to my understanding, but I won't pretend to be an expert on how backend stuff like that works. It's also a separate rating between Dogfights and Fleet Battles.
Can you queue with people with crossplay? or is it purely just random people who may be on your team or on the other may be from another console? Just wondering if I can queue with my friends who play on PlayStation while I'm on Xbox.
There's a whole party and friendslist system as part of crossplay for SWS. You can totally queue up with friends on different platforms!
QA accounts are known to try dying or breaking out of maps in every possible way. Do not assume their skill level matches this low stat. They will destroy you as mercilessly as they have me.
Could you go in to more detail on how you rank up in an operation? Is it determined by play time, points earned relative to others, etc.?
As a casual gamer, I am hoping to be able to unlock all of the cosmetics. Including eventually being able to get the galactic ace rating.

Are you talking about your Fleet Battles rank that resets in each Operation or completing Operation goals to get all the cosmetics?
For the former, it's based on winning matches. For the latter, it's based on completing challenges (or whatever the slated goal is for the Operation). You can see an example in the screenshot above.
