Regarding theory 2. Maybe its a juvenile brood nexus? I mean we know nexuses have a symbiotic relationship with glyphids, the nexus makes glyphids(that sometimes bring it food i assume) and then it gets to live in exchange. Maybe the relationship is bigger then we though with glyphids going so far as to protect the eggs of a different species?

Looool….talk about ignorance of arena shooters the origin of fps. Doom, quake, duke nukem, wolfenstein, these were all originally mouse and keyboard games.
You play better with mouse because humans are extremely good at aiming while in motion, you can drag your aim and stop immediately as soon as you find your target. If you’ve ever shot a bow or thrown a football or baseball or kicked a soccerball, most of us are better in motion, there’s a twitch muscle memory.
Akshually, growing up with those games the oldest ones you mention started out primarily with keyboard controls and kinda iffy mouse support, so we originally played them without using the mouse. I remember Build engine games didn't really work with a Z axis, so you could essentially hit something that was flying if it was aligned vertically with your crosshairs. In Quake you had to enable it too, but that was the first game that actually did it right, afaik.
I only ever got muted once before for saying I was 12 in chat as a joke (didn't know that was also an issue), and I can't recall a time I was ever a dick in chat to anyone that wasn't already being a dick to me (can't remember a time I didn't stop when a mod asked me to). I was much more frequently helping people in that chat or debating builds, but if you unban be I'll just stay out of the those chats, I mostly just want to use the LFG chat and hangout in the pods. Also, I made another account mostly to ask about why I was banned/request an unban in the first place since you guys only receive messages from people that are in the discord (it's not like I was hiding it, I messaged you on that discord account). Regardless, sorry for being a dick. I'll be on my best behavior if you let me back in. ♥

Just a note, I find that Steam can have trouble syncing regularly between two different installations. It's great for backups with wipes or a new machine, but switching between computers gives me issues on most games.

Is there anywhere I can read up on how terrain is generated and how things spawn?
I know it won't be important for 99% of my playtime, but I do like reading up on those things on the off chance I find things that save me a bit of hassle.
One of the things I found out that changed how I look at the game is the swarm generation process, and now I'm curious if there's a way for me to know generally where/when to look for crafting minerals, etc.
The caves are made from shapes - minerals are distributed randomly in those.

That's actually not entirely true. Coffee Stain has been great at both giving feedback and suggestions to the game, so while Ghost Ship Games are the developers, Coffee Stain has been a great and helpful partner in getting Deep Rock Galactic to where it is today.

Or, the actual story is that you already had a bunch of strikes for being a dick in chat, failing to follow the moderators requests to stop and being snarky about it, and using alt accounts to dodge ban/mutes. I might consider removing the ban if you send a video of yourself eating pants.
