Yes we employ A LOT of women. We have used multiple female staff members likenesses for several captains in our other game modes currently and then the Dasha commanders. And AGAIN for the random commanders in the regular recruited ships, because they aren't in the game right now doesn't mean they won't happen.

Well I just went through and recruited 10 commanders to check and got 6 different faces. I know the three that were pictured above do come up more often, don't know if this is RNG based or whatever, but ya.

I've been in a JB with almost FULL HP and no main battery.... talk about poor RNG...

It's a game mechanic that everyone has to learn to work around was the point. In gaming, and that is ANY game, there are mechanics that are not ideal to the player and we have to learn the mechanics to mitigate them and move forward.

If you are playing a competitive game and not optimizing your ship for that play, you're probably not doing right as many of the top clans will tell you there are things you MUST or WILL (for them) utilize in your set ups.

IE: Det signals.

We are looking into this (as you are not the only one reporting it).

It should be said though that we are, for obvious reason having a significantly higher than normal server population numbers throughout the day so routing through to our servers may be slowing down some where.

Some ISP's are working on upping their assets currently to help with the increased volume overall, so this may be part of the issues. I know Comcast currently has a routing hub down too, but that one is handling the western states.

Those of us from the NA office currently working from home monitor our server status from the moment we wake up and for some of us until we go to bed to keep an eye on things, especially right now.

But if anyone is having issues with their pings PLEASE run a WGCheck and make sure you click "Extended network diagnostics" and send in a customer service ticket with that report attached. I have dropped the link explaining ...

I don't have an answer for that, because I don't develop the game modes, but I can definitely ask.

But I will say a SIGNIFICANTLY lower number of games are played in those modes vs Random.

TBH, Det's would have to have a significantly high number of occurrence to be a problem to be changed

And if we're going to remove Det's then why not remove being able to knock guns out, AA, secondaries, rudder, engines, citadels, dev strikes, etc etc etc? because they are all annoying too and happen more often...

All that being said, I do agree and have passed the request from the larger number of folks that talk about det's as being "underwhelming" because I totally agree.

Aloha,

So ALL of our "Random commanders" are loosely based off WG staff overall. The exception of course are the Unique Commanders, Historical Commanders or Legendary Commanders.

Understand though most of the EU DD's are Swedish, these ships reside in the EU tech tree, so their commanders will be pulled from a pool of likenesses that we have for the EU lines.

Damage yes, (I mean yes, you won't take damage), but there is a bug where you MAY (not always), get the annoying voice warning still.

Aloha,

So the FF on aircraft is a bug we know about, we're working on correcting this. As for regular fire, if it's secondaries and a DD meanders between you and the enemy your secondaries are shooting at, usually they will take fire, if you only hit them a couple times its not particularly a big deal. If you go pink, it means you actually dealt a substantial amount of damage to them (or sunk them).

Currently the FF feature is more to try to give players a heads up and ping them to their situational awareness. And to attempt to deter trolls that just feel the need to TK overall.

Admittedly EVERYONE sooner or later accidentally will deal damage to a team mate. I myself have gone pink (cough, during the last live stream) when I fired long range torps with a clear range and had a fast ship double back across the path of the torps and not seen them coming.

The fact that you are aware that accidents happen and at least attem...

We are working with STEAM to attempt to remedy a lot of the issues we're having currently running the client through them. Hopefully they will be worked out soon. Let me ask our peeps about your specific question though. I THINK they are considered separate entities (accounts on STEAM vs not on steam) however.

Sorry I didn't reply to you, this should not affect you. As you use Steam as your launcher.

I have had a few people mention that they have had the same thing occur, as have I and we had to just add it to the accepted applications list. Not all things that are marked as a possible issue technically are, as those programs look for certain markers that will ping you for a final decisions.

As for why the WGC is going to be our primary launcher. Both the WGC and the legacy launcher, while serving the same purpose, are very different independent pieces of software. Each of them requires independent support and maintenance, and, while we maintained the Legacy launcher before, it's a constant additional workload that could be focused elsewhere to improve the game or services. WGC provides better features and control for the players, and also can be used as a hub for all WG titles. Though we understand that not everyone players multiple WG titles, there is a very large portion of our players that do. We and other teams are allocating our efforts to it, so WGC will o...

With the crashes, how do you know it specifically is the cause of your computer crashing? Or do you mean WGC itself crashes not your computer? If this is the case then running a WGCheck will find the issue most times with WGC itself. I have not had WGC crash in about 2 years on me and if the game client crashes or has issues usually running WGCheck has found the files that needed to be fixed, or I had a connection issue with the server that dropped the client.

As for WGC popping windows defender, any time you have a new launcher that is going to communicate with an external server this will happen. Whether or not you realize it even Steam does this upon the initial install, until you tell it that it is a "safe program" Anti-Virus and Defender specifically giving you a warning about an app doesn't always mean there is malicious code.

I have launchers for various other games I play and every single one of them had to be allowed to connect off the comput...

Aloha,

So I am currently filling out a report that is based around this change specifically and I am adding things as I read these posts. So just FYI all, I will gladly take all your feedback but understand.

"It's broken, fix it" isn't constructive feedback, nor is "It's dumb."

I need more in depth feedback to feed up.

In the line of not being able to chose what drive you install WGC into (I think I dragged the entire install folder to my D drive, perhaps that's how I did it), but that is feedback I am currently putting in.

Mahalo,

And that is the thing, the old launcher literally collects and communicates the same information as the WGC, but WGC is more stable, updates faster and is what we are switching to for functionality.

Firewalls will typically always pop for launchers of any game as they communicate with another server and this throws up flags. It is not because of "malicious code."

Well I am unsure how I got it to install on my D drive verses my C drive then but I will look into this, to see if this is a problem. As for adding accounts for regions:

I just added my EU account by going to this tab. And it worked just fine. Currently we have been fielding a large amount of customer service tickets with people having issues with their clients, whether client related or install issues. Centralizing to one launcher is the way to simplify this and the way we are moving forward, furthermore, for those players that play multiple WG prog...

Aloha,

So um, working together in a division is bad? This game is supposed to be team based, at least how I play is I try to support my division first and the team second. I'm weird though, because when I play CV's I play them as a support roll, spotting, area denial, fighter cover, I could care less if I'm on the top for the score for the team.

I know I know, "But you're taking a bunch of individuals and asking them to work in a team."

EXCEPT, if the enemy CV's had not just sat parked..... they probably would have been okay...

I have been saying for years (before the rework even) "A stationary CV is a dead CV." and a BB can die just as easily if they potato and the enemy CV spots them.....

Not sure who told you to re-install the game, but it was more than likely more a server sync issue (I don't know because I didn't get the details), but either way, I am glad it worked out for you :) The functionality really is better with the WGC than without TBH.

-Hapa

Comment

Let me clarify some, you have the client on your computer already, all you would need to do is download the WGC. The old launcher will no longer update the client however and will stop functioning but the client itself will keep working until there is an update. SO, unless you want to continuously download the updates and patches manually the WGC would be the better thing to dload.

-Hapa

Comment

Well the biggest thing will be the game won't launch or update.

-Hapa

Comment

No, all settings and functionality is working using the WGC now. And actually it is better than running the separate client or old launcher because you can set the WGC to pre-install patches if you want.
