I've heard RS3 had some major issues with the rollout. Will those be accounted for in this one, so we don't face a similar rollback?

This was definitely discussed internally amongst the two teams. We will be learning from RS3's experiences. We don't expect those issues to affect us and we will remain in contact with their teams to take learnings into consideration.

Should we expect a September Gielinor Gazette? If so, any idea when?

There isn't going to be a Gazette for September, unfortunately. I don't write the Gazettes, but the reason why there wasn't a Gazette was because of the feedback we saw on the last Gazette. Players told us it's just rehashing information they are already aware of - they didn't want to read a blog recapping information and said it'd be better for us to just wait until we had more information to share.

We aren't ready to share our plans re: roadmap fully yet - we're working towards a larger Summit-style format to do that. We want that to be the big announcement, something will get a lot of reach and hopefully a lot more excitement.

Where is the gazette for last month? road map? More updates noone wants, just like quest speed running lol

sigh

I didn't write Summer Summit but I know it looks like that from a glance! It's actually just a "Summit" and it looks like it'll be in Winter. I believe the team wants to go with these more regularly and have a regular cadence so you know when to expect news.

It's a good question! We're doing this for New and Returning players mainly and we think offering a 'fresh' experience where everyone can jump into the game at the same point might help retain those players more. Our active community isn't our target with this specific update but we know they may want to play. In our design we haven't added any rewards or FOMO - it can be completely ignored if you don't want to participate.
Achievement Points for example are a new system we're trialling in FSW. The aim of this is to create a path for new players to follow, as well as have something nice for active players, if they want to play.

Nobody asked for this, we saw how in RS3 it has flopped. Where is the updated roadmap, what updates are we gonna get into the main game, like hello

We're in the middle of planning our next major Summit stream which will announce our plans for the main game in more detail - really sorry for the wait. I've tried to get some of the roadmap questions answered on leadership livestreams but I know you're wanting to see more of the roadmap and our plans for the main game.

Regarding RS3's launch issues, we don't expect those issues to affect us but we'll remain in contact with their teams and we will take learnings into consideration.

Post

Hey everyone! We'll be live next week on Thursday 6th October for a General Q&A with Mods Ash, Kieren, Bruno and Mod Kirby.

Do you have questions for them? Ask away! We'll be live at 17:00 BST on Twitch.

Just a note on the selection of questions that make it to the Livestream. We will select questions based on what's the most widely asked - plus what the devs are willing to answer and talk about. The devs would prefer to answer questions about the game/development, rather than in-game suggestions like "Can you change X or Y".

That's not because we don't want to hear suggestions for the game (they're often really good), but we have a process internally where we handle suggestions in a separate meeting on a weekly basis. That's often the small things you see going into game update news posts as unpolled small changes, or the stuff you see in Poll blogs. The devs don't really like coming on stream to always give the same answer "sounds like ...

10.30am is when we last updated the page, we don't currently know exactly when the reboot will happen (only ASAP). The current status for this issue says "upcoming" which means it hasn't started yet. We will update with an ETA once we know it

We apologise for this - the team is just investigating now, we're trying to see how to fix it and whether this needs a reboot or we can fix it another way.

Beta worlds don't yet give trophies or points so progress will not transfer, but you will be able to test the system and see how long it took you to complete a Quest. :) We would love to hear feedback on the times we've provided in the blog to see how the balancing is and make tweaks before launch later this month.

Should make tutorial island one of the speed run challenges. I know it's not a quest but it's already a popular category considering how easy it is to make a new account and try again.

This was brought up in feedback & is technically possible in the future if we decide to invest more time into expanding Quest Speedrunning! Along with the Champion's Guild at 32 QP. Possible but any development time towards it would only really be done if it was popular

Hotfix should have gone out just now to alleviate this problem - https://twitter.com/oldschoolrs/status/1568228244310089729?s=46&t=2xReojKwSNnNBqrQ-2A-GA

pre-yesterday it was inconsistently reactable, which is why a fix was put in place yesterday. Unfortunately the fix didn’t work as we intended and made it even worse - consistently UNreactable. The change today (hotfix) means Baba will now be consistently reactable. It will not be exactly the same behaviour as before but should be an improvement. If you’re getting any further issues though let me know and I’ll pass it on!

We are so sorry for misgendering Baba in that tweet 😭!

We're looking into this with immediate priority. Unfortunately, the changes we made in this week's update included some engine changes which borked the way NPCs interact with the Hunter skill. This will require a coldfix to resolve as it's not something we want to leave in the game. We're working out timelines.

- We'll keep the game update newspost up to date with timelines once we have them.
- We'll post updates on our official social channels.

Our apologies for the inconvenience.

There should be a specific setting to hide the Activity Advisor in the Settings Menu. There is a "show activity advisor" options in the Settings. It's on by default as new players aren't likely to be looking for it

In game, it's only an increase of 5; 45->50.

Might want to take a look u/JagexLight

Hi Chewy, sorry that was my bad on the newspost. The game is correct but I gave the wrong information in the newspost as changes were made during testing which did not get updated in the newspost. >.< It has been fixed now and thank you for raising and tagging me. I'm really sorry for the confusion I caused

Hey Bumba, thank you so much for raising this. This was an error in the newspost. When I wrote the newspost it was correct but then further changes were made during testing and I forgot to update the newspost. It has been fixed now! Sorry for the confusion I caused
