We're still discussing our approach. No ETA on updated blog, but we want to let you know what's going on sooner rather than later.
Why would anyone use the steam client over Runelite? What features other than UI scaling does the steam client have to prevent people ditching it for Runelite?
You still keep your playerbase though, they will just be playing on different clients so I guess it's no loss for you.

Bottom line is that we're really excited to bring Steam to new players or players who played a long time ago. We understand that a lot of our current players might not want to play using the Steam game client - and that's fine!
We've seen everybody's feedback though, loud and clear. Our current focus is on a smooth Steam launch for the time being. For the future, we're not ruling anything out but there are no immediate plans. Naturally, we'll tell you well ahead of time if that changes!
So the new update is the 17th, but even that update does not include the Equipment rebalancing correct? so the date is still TBD on these changes?
As for when we're looking to release this... we're not going to predict a date for it just yet. But you'll be kept informed well in advance.

Disappointed we're not seeing the buffs/changes to the maces, chainmail, and shields at least tomorrow. They're interesting, but the longer away they are the farther my account gets progression wise from the changes being relevant.
We're not opposed to splitting up the changes rather than one big batch. We could add the popular changes (like you mentioned) without Blowpipe and co. We're not ruling anything out.

Dude the team is absolutely massive now, I don't recognize a lot of them (even today, I don't know who Mod Herc is), I think it would be really cool to see a part in the gazette with a short bio for each Jmod.
It's seriously exciting. I only joined the OS team on 2017 about two days before the Inferno (but have been at Jagex since 2015) and even just three years ago our entire team could fit on three rows of desks. Now there's so much talent here!
I'd be happy to get more J-Mod input into the Gazette, I'll see what we can pull together.

Hey, right now this post is probably the best list of which pets in game get a holiday hat. I've looked online last year too and there isnt one! If you could reply with a list of all of them thatd be honestly great. For example I know olm has one but is missing here (not that this was supposed to be a list but yeah)

If I can make some players happy by turning myself into different NPCs, saying dumb stuff, and spam-click spawning junk then I'll happily do that. It's been a tough year for so many, we'll do what we can to help.

I'm glad you enjoyed what 2020 had. I know quite a lot of players felt it was lacking, and I think that's understandable. But the team is bigger now, noobs are trained, we've adapted to remote working, and 2021 is going to be awesome.
