We beat you to that I'm afraid. The poll for swampbark and bloodbark literally ended yesterday. Both passed. You can read more about the proposals here: https://secure.runescape.com/m=news/soul-wars-and-minigames?oldschool=1

Bit disappointed with Kandarin nerfs, but it makes sense. I'm just glad the granite was added to the shop. Not looking forward to redoing quest plans though.

Also, can we get a bit more clarification on Iban's Staff? On Stream Husky said it would be from Tirannwn, but SotE removes the Iban Disciples and you now claim from Koftik outside the Underground Pass. So if you unlocked the quest with a region like Fremmy, it sounds like you should be able to claim the staff from Kandarin and recharge using the Mage in West Ardy, making it part of Kandarin more than Tirannwn.

Sure, I'll follow that up and seek to clarify when I know.

Hi Sween, I'm not sure if you're in the Leagues Discord, but we keep track of any questionable things with the region interfaces, region unlocks and other considerations. If you're not in it, I'm sure Husky passes them along to you.

He sure does! I'll be joining it shortly (and considering how we might formalise our relationship in future).

Hey all. Similarly to the recent Leagues blog I posted, sorry for how late this is being posted. Had some connectivity issues.

In recent weeks we've used the weekly update newspost to talk Revs, and whilst it meant it got a lot of views it also meant the proposals could sometimes be overshadowed by other things. Like lobster cages pots.

We want your feedback! We want to make these content changes very soon and we need your input. It's too late in the week (or too early in the weekend) for us to make changes, but we'll discuss feedback on Monday!

Hey all. Firstly, sorry for how late this is being posted. Had some connectivity issues.

We first posted this blog last week. We've since had playtests and you've told us where we've made mistakes. So we changed some stuff! There's a changelog at the top, and the interfaces have been updated too.

If you spot any inconsistencies, let us know. It's too late in the week (or too early in the weekend) for us to make changes, but we'll discuss feedback on Monday!

As a player back in the day I can't really remember many games happening that weren't 50/50. That said, I'm sure we could Old School-ify it!

It's worth noting that in recent ideation sessions I saw a great proposal from a few members of the team for a different Runecraft minigame (and guild) that I thought was way better than GOP. I'm hoping we'll use an upcoming Gazette (and survey) to talk about these types of ideas.

Less lobster-related and more 🦀-related - we've added a section to the newspost to talk about Rev Caves. Namely we're proposing two other changes to address feedback from last week: a fee to deter raggers/griefers, and a PJ Timer trial, specific to the caves.

Thought that there was tons of new hires coming to the dev team. perhaps it is taking time to train them.

You're right that it does take a lot of time to train and onboard new hires. Not just getting the noobs up to speed, but also time away from the people involved in training them. It'll pay off long-term though!

Hey all. We're seeing a lot of feedback on this change. We thought it'd be a very minor change that might help to avoid any possible confusion among new players when fishing at lobster spots. That said, a lot of you are quite rightly pointing out that things like trees say 'Chop down tree' and axes aren't called 'Tree choppers'! Maybe relying on intuition can be a good thing.

We're more than open to reconsidering this change, we'll review this in our usual update feedback meetings. I can tell that even before the meeting I'd expect us to change it back next week.

That said, I'm definitely going to check the google trend for 'lobster pot' later today.

We've taken action against the throwaway sabotage accounts and their main accounts too - and we'll keep doing that when we get evidence. In addition to in-game reports send any other supporting evidence through to [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) (the anti-cheating mailbox) and/or [[email protected]](mailto:...

SC hands down for me, even if I'd prefer a new take on it than just porting it over. As for why we're getting Soul Wars, it was done as a test to see if they could port it over. Soul Wars is more isolated and it has a good mix of everything (NPCs, monsters/bosses, terrain, sounds, graphics, animations, etc). SC at least lacks monsters and bosses, so it wasn't a good test of porting those. They aren't opposed to offering SC in the future, but it also won't be that easy to port over so don't expect it will be a small job.

Nail on the head here. It was an experiment, we spoke about the experiment, it was well-received so we kept working on it until we felt we could offer it.

Ed summarised it recently, it's not a case of X versus Y, it's more a case of offering X first and maybe Y later.

We're certainly open to Fist of Guthix or Stealing Creation or anything else in the future!

Feel free to to complete this survey: osrs.game/Porting-Content-Survey. It'll be really useful for our 2021/2 planning.

Honestly, it might be worth removing it and refunding players and then considering polling to readd it elsewhere. Its design was hampered by BH avoiding tradeable rewards and it is a bit out of place in LMS. It could make a nice unique from Rev Caves if their drop table is reworked.

But at the very least, I'd say it should be polled to the PvP Community; reguardless of how the entre community feels about the VLS, just because some PvPers want it dosn't mean all PvPers do. It is hard to find a solution everyone likes when it just tried to go off social media feedback without polling to the players it is for.

I'm on board with this approach in theory - I think there's some difficulty in identifying what constitutes somebody from the PvP community.

Recently we polled UIM on UIM-affecting changes. It's pretty easy to identify an UIM. Lines have to be drawn somewhere in identifying a PvPer. I'm not sure where those lines are.

Why are you just straight up lying now?

The reward was polled, multiple times, and it failed every single time.

You're quite right, I've edited the reply and included the reason for the edit too.

I'm going to drop my reply to this thread here too: https://www.reddit.com/r/2007scape/comments/j6ql6d/vls_failed_3_polls_integrity_forced_in_bh_now/g80poc3?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3

I think the honest answer is that we've got ourselves into an awkward position with the unpolled content, and I wish we did things differently. I'll talk more about that in a second, but I also want to just reiterate that there isn...

You're completely right that making the Caves single-way as they are now would be ridiculous, but we're hoping this change will be effective in addition to the other changes we're implementing, including adjusting the drop tables, and spreading the Revenants throughout the cave.

I don't think these changes will make things worse. It's possible they won't have the desired effect, and in that case then we'll make other changes too!

I see others mentioning expanding the "Singles+" concept elsewhere in Singles combat and including a PJ Timer too. That's a discussion we'd like to have soon!

I think the honest answer is that we've got ourselves into an awkward position with the unpolled content, and I wish we did things differently. I'll talk more about that in a second, but I also want to just reiterate that there isn't an ulterior motive behind these unpolled changes, whether to hamfist the VLS in the wider game or to undermine the polling system. We only want to add game content that you like, and we believe the polling system is the bedrock of the game.

We added a reward which had failed in the polls, albeit in a slightly different context - added as a buyable weapon, rather than as a random reward from a crate. We removed the activity for that reward, and moved it elsewhere. Doing so also removed the place you could use the reward. Now we're stuck with players who have a thing and nowhere to use it. We can try to find a place for those players to use the reward, or we can delete it and refund players. We'd prefer to try to find a solution that everybody ...
