I’m personally still a big supporter of the ‘both’ reward. 10 shillings can easily prove to be too much (or not! who knows), but 5 shillings is too little, yet in both scenarios the new players who desperately need that daily emperor’s chest suffer, and I definitely disagree with making the newbies pick between swagger and useful gear.

Both is a nice balance. 5 shillings and the champion emperor chest.

5 shillings is good for veterans who only have cosmetics to chase after. The emperor Champion chest is great for non-veterans, specially brand new players who need all the boost in gear they can get (while still earning it through sweat and blood)

That sounds like you don’t have enough VRAM.

I agree with alsozara, I believe the best move would be to have daily quests reward an emperor champion chest and 5 shillings, because the daily 5 shillings are a really good motivator to log in every day for the veterans, but the newbies rely a lot on those daily emperor chests to help them progress and have a small chance at reds.

You do have to use steam to purchase them, but you can preview them ingame through the emporium. Still gotta go to steam to purchase them, though.

Does this mean that there is no explosion at Sienna’s starting position, or that the explosion at Sienna’s starting position is of normal strength? As in, equivalent to a non-kaboom explosion.

These patch notes are gorgeous, I can’t appreciate them enough.
Super happy to see feedback was taken in!
Bots in quickplay weaves!
Critter quest is now party-wide!
Weekly quests no longer have a random value!
Smiter is no longer a terrible talent!!

The painting selection UI now shows which paintings are in use throughout your Keep.
Best change. Ever. I can now delete my notepad file that served this very purpose.

And in particular I really appreciate the quotes from the game designer on the big balance changes, these are extremely valuable and appreciated.
Agh, can’t wait to play this! I’ll be back to my pc in 2 days and will get facefirst into vermintide lol!

If it’s from a daily, I suspect it is intended.
Weeklies are the ones that give 50.

Ok so what the hell.
On the one hand, as discussed ardently in the last few posts, there’s this:

I think if you make it too expensive, it’ll be outrageous and no one will buy it. People will get angry and FS won’t make money off of it.

If you don’t make it too expensive, then you’ll be naturally devaluing the cosmetics’ worth. You see someone with a fancy 750 hat and you won’t think “wow that guy saved up for 3 weeks to get that hat.” No, you’ll think “ok he forked out 2 bucks for that hat.”
Not even if they’re cheap, if they make it fairly priced, it’s going to happen.

The best way to make it work is if shilling cosmetics are not purchaseable with real cash. There’d be cash cosmetics, and shilling cosmetics. It’s healthier that way.

I mean yeah, but I was more talking about the daily quests there and how there were some daily quests that were blatantly more difficult than others due to having higher requirements or the same requirement but at a higher number, etc.
And people complain about those there as well.

Apex Legends does it and people hated it there, too.
You could get a ‘get 5 headshots’ daily while your friend has ‘get 5 headshots with [garbage tier gun]’.

But yeah, that was the main, core point of the thread, Machine. That there’s no benefit to having a random value for the weekly quest completion requirement without also trying a bigger or smaller reward to it, but trying a different reward to different random quests is also bad because since shillings are already hard capped you don’t want some people just… getting more than others simply because RNGesus decided to give them torturous quests for a ton of shillings.

@TmanDW No worries mate, all discussion is good and it’s not all that off-topic :stuck_out_tongue:...

Sure, but then you have things like specific characters getting their story fleshed out a lot. Like, for example, Luthor Harkon got a ton of extra stuff added to his backstory, that’s more than just a what if or what happened. His existance was changed, because CA felt like using him and decided what was already there wasn’t enough.
The key here is that whenever they want to add something or edit something lore-wise, they get in touch with GW and work it out in a back and forth until both parties are satisfied with the result.
So GW is definitely very, very protective of the IP, but that doesn’t necessarily means they’re unflexible, things can be arranged and discussed until change is ready and approved.

Nah. Look at total war: warhammer and how they keep pulling and pulling named characters from all over the place, adding and changing things as needed (all with the approval of GW, granted, but their complete creative liberty otherwise). Books, novels, army books, small paragraphs in a goddamn white dwarf magazine. If they want to, Creative Assembly talks to GW, they discuss how to best do it, and they do it.

What could be the case (and I’m not sure, only game devs that have worked with GW would know) is that you need to purchase a bigger license for that.

From what I’ve heard/read, part of the reason why there’s so many warhammer video games is because GW has this thing where you purchase the license exclusively for what you need, not for the entire IP. This is cheaper for the developer, because you just buy what you need, but if you eventually want to do more and it goes out of your license, you need to buy the license for that other thing, too.
Tis jus...

I mean, idk, I haven’t actually read Genevieve’s books. All I know is that she was there and she helped, and that Drachenfels wasn’t a vampire.

Not any contact, we know Sienna learned under Gormann. That’s something. He was a pretty big deal.

Either way I don’t think it’s an issue on Games Workshop part, but simply Fatshark having no desire to get our characters involved with the big players, at least so far. Let’s not forget that we’re extremely low on the power scale, meeting one of the named characters is a big deal simply because of how absurdly broken almost anyone with a named mention is.

He did mention that it was fixed. His point when bringing that up is that he’s baffled that it ever got past the drawing board to implement such a needlessly grindy system, and believes something is wrong somewhere in the development process for the game that shows a blatant disconnect from what the devs think the players want/need, and what the players actually want/need.
It’s one of the overall points of the video, and something that has been talked about by several people.
