Tomorrow, November 4, we’re going to open Onyxia’s Lair for further raid testing at 2:00 p.m. PDT (5:00 p.m. EDT). We came out of last week’s test with the desire to make a few more tweaks to that encounter.
Please join us. We’ll leave the test open for 24 hours.
Thank you!
Hello.
We’re working on a fix for this issue, which appears to be an Android-only problem.
We’ll let you know as we make progress on it.
No, the chance for Renown with a win is not being removed from Comp Stomp.
It’s a chance on all Battleground wins, and Comp Stomp is a Battleground. So it’s staying.

Just wanted to draw attention to some Sanctum of Domination tuning that’s coming with the weekly reset in each region.
Greetings, citizens of Azeroth –
The World of Warcraft community is second to none with the passion, love, and excitement you all show to the game. Player feedback impacts all aspects of the game, and with such a wide range of opinions, playstyles, and interests out there, gathering and understanding feedback is more important than ever.
To help further our efforts in this area, we’re introducing the WoW Community Council. This program will add another venue for communication between players and WoW developers. Our goal is to gather more detailed feedback on all aspects of World of Warcraft from players around the world with a wide range of backgrounds and interests.
Here’s how it works:
We’ve extended our raid test in the Season of Mastery Beta by 3 hours. Raids will now close at 5:00 p.m. PDT.
Thank you!

The Season of Mastery Beta is back online following maintenance and includes the following updates.
Week 4 of open Beta (October 27)
We’re planning to take the Season of Mastery Beta offline at 11:30 a.m. PDT, in about two hours.
We’ll have a development notes update for you soon thereafter.
Greetings!
First, thank you to everyone who hopped on the Season of Mastery Beta last week and helped us test out our first adjustments to Molten Core and Onyxia.
Going into Season of Mastery, our philosophy was to take a light touch when it came to changes to raid bosses and mechanics, and focus instead on restoring versions of raid bosses that existed in the game at one point or another during the course of original World of Warcraft. As we were peeling back the layers of data from early versions of the game, it became obvious quickly that the list of actual changes to most content in Molten Core and Onyxia was extremely short. Onyxia had a conflagrate/disorient effect on her Fireball attack during the air phase, Golemagg had an Earthquake ability, and Ragnaros did a fire splash more frequently, with a weekly timer to limit the number of attempts a group could make.
Some of these mechanics are more impactful than others, but overall, we suspected that the tota...
Read moreWe’ve brutally murdered the vendor who offered these on the Beta realms, and disabled the flasks for anyone who stocked up on them.
When we resurrect the vendor again later, the flask will remain disabled for use.
FYI, this third realm was opened so that we could test some background processes. It means literally nothing for gameplay or future plans for gameplay or anything like that.
It will probably disappear in a few days, once we’ve completed the analysis we’re doing behind the scenes.
Please don’t worry that any original starter gear might go away forever or become very rare.
We’re working on making all of those various older starter pieces available to players who want to obtain them.
On the Season of Mastery Beta, the Molten Core and Onyxia raids are scheduled to close at 4:00 p.m. PDT today. (about six hours from now)
Thanks to everyone who tested the raids! We’re working on some more potential tweaks to the them, and we’re planning to do some more raid testing after a future update to the Beta build.
We’ll let you know as soon as we schedule that.
You should now be able to create level 60 template characters in the Season of Mastery Beta. The vendors offering fire resist gear and consumables are also coming online, and the NPC with teleports to Molten Core and Onyxia will be in place soon.
Please try logging out and back in if you do not see the above.
Also, please note that template characters cannot interact with the Soul of Iron High Elf watchers.
We’ll open raid testing at 2:00 p.m. PDT.
Thank you!
You are not the only person sporadically getting those errors. Fortunately, they can be dismissed.
We’ve got a fix for that coming in the Beta update next week.
We’ve investigated this issue thoroughly and we believe that resists are now functioning more closely to original Burning Crusade.
During the development of patch 2.5.2 for Burning Crusade Classic, we found and fixed a bug preventing some talents that resisted specific mechanics (such as Unbreakable Will or Surefooted) from combining with school-based resistance stats correctly. The bug resulted in resist chances in patch 2.5.1 that were slightly different than the original 2.4.3 Burning Crusade.
As part of this fix, we took a close look at how the resist chance formula changed between patches 1.12.0 and 2.4.3. This led us to discover several pertinent changes that had happened over the course of the development of original Burning Crusade. These included alterations to the order in which spell hits and spell resistances are applied. We brought those fixes into Burning Crusade Classic patch 2.5.2, and we’re now confident that our Burning Crusade Classic resist chance f...
