Jumpstart, Magic's easy-to-learn, wildly fun format, will be arriving tomorrow on MTG Arena! Are you ready to mix, match, and cause mayhem across the 46 different themes and 121 possible 20-card lists that include hundreds (literally hundreds) of cards that are available for the first time in MTG Arena?

Yes, of course you are!

Jumpstart was designed to provide fast, easy-to-learn, hilariously fun replayable Magic—and we're bringing the same experience to MTG Arena as you'll see in tabletop, from your Well-Read Dinosaurs to your Spooky Rainbows. And yes, we are enjoying finding some of the most absurd-sounding theme combinations when talking about this format, thank you for noticing.

Bug Fixes

• Addressed several crashes involving playing in foreign languages (désolé, lo siento, Verzeihung, & desculpa)
• Fixed a bug that leaves cards improperly revealed in the hand.
• Added more logging to better identify & track down performance problems.

• Players should no longer be able to swap to uncollected versions of the Core Set 2021 Mastery Pass pet.
• The deckbuilder should no longer inappropriately show up when attempting to view the "table/pod" during a Player Draft
• Players should no longer experience hard crashes when playing MTG Arena in non-English languages.
• Greatly reduced the frequency of players experiencing "black screens" when transitioning between scenes (e.g. exiting a match, navigating between the Store and Home, etc.)
• Added additional in-game messaging when players experience additional loading time in-between scenes.

Developer's Note: The “black screen” issues players are encountering are a result of longer-than-normal transition times between scenes. These come from a variety of sources, and this update fixes some, but not all of those. Som...

Players make experience intermittent game crashes when playing MTG Arena with their language set to Brazilian-Portuguese, German, or Spanish.

As a temporary workaround, players can set their language to English through the options menu (Options -> Graphics -> Locale).

In preparation for Standard rotation, we will be updating the in-game Welcome Bundle to include Core Set 2021 booster packs when the set releases on June 25, 2020 in MTG Arena.

To prepare for this change, the Welcome Bundle will be unavailable for purchase starting the morning of June 24, 2020 (PT).

As a general reminder, players may only purchase the Welcome Bundle once regardless of the booster pack contents. If you previously purchased the bundle during Core Set 2019 or Core Set 2020, you will not be able to purchase it again.

• Setting your monitor to maximum resolution doesn't fully fill the screen on 16:10/Retina Displays.

• The Full Screen option is disabled on 16:10/Retina Displays.

• If you change the default install location during set-up, the game will not automatically launch once the setup is complete.

Bug Fixes

• The Teferi Play Bundle no longer incorrectly shows +10 Mastery Levels for the locked item after purchasing. Full details for the play bundle as well as the Core Set 2021 Set Mastery are available, here.

Known Issue

• After pre-ordering the Teferi Play Bundle, the game incorrectly shows +10 Mastery Levels for the locked item in your collection.
• The play bundle no longer includes the additional Mastery levels. When hovering the pre-order bundle in store, the correct pre-order contents are shown.
• A full breakdown of what's included in the Play Bundle, including the contents of the Core Set 2021 Mastery Pass are available in today's 1.08.01 Patch Notes.

Known Issue - "Crafting" Mastermind Emblem

• Players have the option to "craft" the Mastermind Emblem and add the card to their collection.
• YOU CANNOT PLAY WITH THIS EMBLEM - This "card" is not legal in Standard or any other format.
• Crafting this WILL consume a mythic rare wildcard.

• You may purchase playsets (four copies) of every card in the Historic Anthology 3 bundle for either 25,000 gold or 4,000 gems
• You can also craft individual cards by redeeming Wildcards of the appropriate rarity (1:1).
• Historic Anthology 3 cards are legal in Historic formats, Bot Match, and Direct Challenge.

  • Developer’s Note: As some of you may have noticed, there were certain scenarios where you were being matched against somebody with a much higher (or lower) Rank than yours – this should address that issue. Regardless, players were still being properly matched on their current W/L record (Ranked draft formats use both your rank and your win/loss record when searching for an opponent).

• We are working to identify all of the impacted players, and will be automatically granting you the missing Draft Token.

We’re aware of an issue where players who purchased the Ikoria Mastery Pass are not receiving their Draft Token when reaching Level 15. This is a bug, and we are currently working on a fix to ensure affected players get the intended rewards. This will include players who reached Level 15 before this issue is resolved.

There is no need to contact customer support at this time. We will update you with more information when it becomes available.
