JAN 30 - 1.04.01.00

• All players should have access to Theros Beyond Death basic lands
  • Note: This only refers to the regular basic lands. The Nyx basic lands will be available to all players at a later date.
  • If you do not see the Theros Beyond Death basic lands in your collection, please contact support for further assistance.
• Players who redeem codes from the Ashiok and/or Elspeth Planeswalker decks no longer incorrectly receive Nyx basic lands as part of the in-game deck.
  • Note: Developer error in their favor; players who incorrectly received the Nyx basic lands will still have them in their collection.

JAN 21 – 1.04.00.03 HOTFIX

• Fixed an issue where player logs were being kept indefinitely.
  • When you update to the latest client, any existing logs will be automatically deleted.
  • Going forward, MTG Arena will automatically delete logs older than three days when the game is launched.

There is no downtime associated with this patch. Magic: The Gathering Arena will automatically update the next time the game is launched.

JAN 16 – 1.04.00.01 Hotfix

• Addressed an issue that was causing an increase in network errors
  • This should resolve the increased frequency of disconnects for most players, however we are continuing to monitor the situation.
  • For any issues related to network errors, please contact customer support for further assistance.
• Players should no longer experience a “black” screen when launching the game or entering the packs scene.

Secret Lair Sleeve Purchase Date

Currently, the FAQ for Secret Lair code redemption incorrectly states that these sleeves will also be available for purchase starting on December 12, 2019. While we do intend to make these sleeves available for purchase on Magic: The Gathering Arena, the exact date has yet to be determined.

We apologize for the confusion, and we are working to get this information corrected on the Secret Lair website.

Codes will be released as product is made available. Players who received their codes from their purchase can redeem them immediately. We are aware of an issue where a small number of players may not receive the card style reward after earning the respective win in certain events (i.e. pass-style events where losses are not counted, such as the upcoming Historic Anthology event).

• Workaround: If players do not receive the card style when they earned the respective win, playing an additional game in the event should reissue any rewards that have not been claimed.

If the event has already ended or you do not receive your missing rewards even when playing additional games in the event, please contact support for further assistance.

November Game Update - Friends List Delay

The Friends List feature is being delayed from the November game update, scheduled for tomorrow at 8 a.m. PT (16:00 UTC). All other planned features, such as Historic and performance improvements, will still be released as planned.

In our final testing of Friends List, we found scaling issues that we need to address. We apologize for the delay and are working on solving these issues as quickly as possible.

Once we have an updated timeline, we’ll let you know.

Gameplay

• Oko, Thief of Crowns, Once Upon a Time, and Veil of Summer are now banned in Standard.

In this month's game update, we're adding new features, new cards, and new things to look forward to on Magic: The Gathering Arena.

PERFORMANCE CHECK-IN

Performance remains our highest priority right now. With the November game update, we expect most players to see improvements, particularly during matches.

This work is ongoing, and we will continue doing these check-ins for as long as necessary to keep players informed of our current progress.

Gameplay Hitches, FPS Drops, Unresponsiveness – In Progress

We've begun the code refactor (i.e. restructuring our current code) of our asset system, with the first batch of changes coming with this update. We primarily focused on reducing the frequency and severity of times the game would appear to "stutter" or "hang" during matches, though you may also experience better performance whenever you're viewing a lot of cards (such as during deckbuilding).
