Shadows and echoes are implemented very differently.
Even if it were like shadows, I’m not sure how we would do warpath. Being both a channeled and movement skill, the target acquisition and updating to be effective would be nuts. This is the rabbit hole that we end up going down when trying to make it work. How long does it hold the channel for? The check for echoes happens when you initially cast the skill. So does it have a fixed duration? That ends up with people tapping warpath instead of holding it. It probably shouldn’t be right on top of you because it’s already fairly noisy. Does it go the opposite direction of you to avoid? Does it simply spin in place? What if you have the no move node?
This list of problems with it goes on and on. I don’t want to say that we’ll never do it but unless a really crazy awesome solution is found to fix this and more, we likely won’t spend dev time on it pre-1.0
Even 5 in a row, we’re talking something like 0.03% chance.
I’ve gotten really good with conditional formatting recently. My spreadsheets are really nice.
I’m sorry this is how it feels for you. While it is technically possible for this to be true, it becomes more and more improbable to hold true as you continue to test. If you truly believe that this is happening, I recommend getting 100 items that are ready to be crafted at 80% success rate. Do them all in a row and record (video) all attempts in a row. Once you’ve done that, check the actual success rate you experienced. If it’s still 100% failure rate or even more than 40% failure rate, I’ll check into it again.
Until then, I have quite literally run billions of tests on this. It’s really accurate. If you don’t believe me, please bring me some data with evidence.
On a wider topic, we have a lot...
Read moreHeads up, try not to post quite that quickly. The system thought you were a spammer and auto flagged you. I’m not at my computer to look into this, just saw the flag and wanted to let you know what happened.
Thanks, it does sound like it might be running out of memory. We are working to reduce the memory used by Epoch and have some ways to do that which are still being worked on.
I don’t have a specific fix that will guaranteed work for you but you can try a few things.
Does this happen with all characters? Some skills are much less performant than others. For example, Avalanche is a very bad offender that could actually cause an issue like this. We know why it’s happening and have a fix coming down the pipe that will resolve skill based issues like this. I would start by changing your skills and see if that helps. (unlikely but it’s worth a shot)
You can try resetting graphics to defaults by deleting or moving your le_graphicsmanager.ini file this is also a stretch but I’ve seen it fix issues like this before so I’d say it’s worth a shot.
I know it takes longer but doing a file check through steam or a full on game reinstall might be worth a shot too.
After that I would open up task manager while playing and keep an eye on your memory usage and see if specific actions cause it to spike.
I’m sorry I don’t have a more clear ...
Read moreIt’s really tough to recover a broken save from crash. There should be a backup character save in your save folder that you can rename to be the normal one and it might work, Just remove the _temp from the end of the file name.
1CHARACTERSLOT_BETA_27_temp
to
1CHARACTERSLOT_BETA_27
Would restore the backup version of character save 27. I’m not sure which one is the broken one and that’s a little trickier to figure out. I would sort by date modified to try and find the newest one.
saves are located in C:\Users\username\AppData\LocalLow\Eleventh Hour Games\Last Epoch\Saves
I would try moving your le_graphicsmanager.ini file in C:\Users\username\AppData\LocalLow\Eleventh Hour Games\Last Epoch
to a backup location and try starting the game up again. It should auto generate a new default one that could fix issues like this.
It’s on our radar. Llama8 was right in that we needed to focus on rogue for this patch. We already had to create a ton of dual wielding animations for the other classes and all the animations for the rogue. We also would have had to either create new skills or rework old ones and we were already making 17 new skills from scratch.
We haven’t set our sights on how or if we are going to implement bows for other classes yet. Someone on discord made a good suggestion for serpent strike getting a bow version but we haven’t even started to talk about that yet.
Thanks, next time, give just changing the audio device as described in the past above and see if that does it too? I’m thinking that it has less to do with the headphones specifically and more that changing the device is the fix. Unplugging the headphones just causes the device to change.
It was a typo in the stat line, it was also not applying to throwing damage. It’s fixed for next patch.
(I know I already told you this, just following up here so we have a paper trail)
Actually, I just found the bug, it’s not working for throwing either. Fixed for next patch.
I’m checking the back end and it is set up to work with bow attacks already.
Are your headphones usb or 3.5mm headphone jacks?
This is a really interesting work around and I’m curious to know if it’s consistently one type or the other.
Your characters are stored locally. I’m on mobile so I can’t type out the exact path with perfect accuracy but it’s something like:
C:/users/user name/Appdata/locallow/eleventh hour games/last epoch/saves
Backup this folder just in case.
When you switch to steam it will likely ask you if you want to use the saves on the steam cloud or use your local saves. Likely you’ll want to pick your local saves as they should have a newer date.
If you pick the wrong one, just restore the backup you made in the first part.
The only rewards that are activated yet are pets. Pets in general are temporarily deactivated while we transition our back end over to a new setup. When that’s done you’ll get your pet rewards. There is nowhere to spend or view cosmetic coins yet but don’t worry it’s all linked to your account.
Yay! I love it when people do the math. You are absolutely spot on. We’ve come up with a way to make it not show up in the character sheet so it’ll appear correctly in a couple hotfixes from now.
