Does this actually still happen? I spent a long time creating a dynamically scaling tooltip window so that it would shrink to fit the screen.

I know the mechanical differences between them.

How do you feel about the wolf? Does it feel any better or worse to you?

How does the wolf feel in comparison to the others? It has a different AI.

If you’re absolutely certain that you never saw a screen that looked like the one that was linked and you never attempted any sort of cheating. Not saying you did, I can just see how someone might accidentally set it while trying as a possibility of what happened. Kinda the only explanation I can think of really.

Then you should submit this as a bug report. It shouldn’t be possible to become any of the mastery classes without selecting it from a screen like the one linked in the thread.

It does warn that it is a permanent choice at least once, maybe two or three times if you read all the dialogue. I still do see people missing that so it probably needs to be really really in your face more.

It’s still in the concept phase. Will likely not be available for next patch. It will probably show pretty detailed info though.

I’m really sorry to say that the only one on this list that I can give you any sort of hope on is number 6 because it already exists as Boardman has said.

We want to avoid having too many buffs on this bar and if every single buff appeared there it would get crazy, fast. We are working to add more to them as we go. We like to add buffs that are non-deterministic and/or have gameplay implications like a number of guaranteed crits.

We are also redesigning our action bar and buff/debuff layout a bit. The buffs aren’t getting significantly bigger but they do have a mouse over tooltip that gives more details.

Yea, it’s just the recording, I just tested it out and it doesn’t do that.

Just to be ultra clear to everyone, this isn’t a serious thing. On Fridays we like to post fun little jokes like this. We aren’t actually adding this camera angle to the game.

I know most people realize it’s a joke but I’ve seen enough serious looking replies that I thought it might be necessary to be clear.

:grinning:

Are you always seeing one of the other uniques in the guaranteed drop pool every run?

This is an important distinction that will help understand if this is a bug or not.

Comment

Are you absolutely sure that your loot filter isn’t accidently filtering it out? 500 runs without it dropping is unbelievably close to impossible. That’s like losing 1300 coin flips in a row.

If you are seeing another of the unique boss drops every time then you should probably submit a bug report. Because while possible, it’s insanely unlikely.

The abilities placed in that screenshot should not be read too much into as they were just placed there to show the layout.

Hey, I haven’t read every reply but I just wanted to pop in and make sure it was clear that it’s supposed to prevent adding another affix if it would make the level too high. It’s also supposed to critical success on the same affix heavily weighted more often than others, however the way that level requirements work, an upgrade from 4 -> 5 will increase the level requirement more than 1 -> 2. So it ends up feeling more likely to get it on the others when a Crit success happens on the highest level affix on the item.

We are making some fairly large changes to the crafting back end soon so I’ll make sure to double check this functionality during that.

I’ll be playing on the same build everyone else has access to and I’ll be running SSF so no cheating here.

We considered this approach too. Unfortunately it doesn’t work. If you invest your +skills from items in a node at skill level 10 which is a required node for points invested by leveling naturally later, those points can’t be removed as it would invalidate the tree by leaning a gap.

This means we can’t differentiate between points earned by +skill items and points earned by leveling.

Comment

This is functioning as intended. I understand the request you have. However, in order to make the items less exploitable for free respecs, the nodes removed needs to be deterministic.

Recording the order in which nodes were placed and removing them in that order brings multiple new problems.

We will keep an eye on feedback regarding the system to see if steps need to be taken. So far, we are quite happy with it.

Note: I have moved this to the feedback and suggestions section.

No, that’s not what it does. If you have 3 unspent skill points in swipe and you unequip an item which grants +1 swipe then you will now have 2 unspent skill points in swipe. It simply takes from the unspent first. If you don’t have enough in your unspent, only then will it auto select a node to remove points from.

I’m not somewhere that I can check this right now but I can say that linking to steam wouldn’t have an effect on this at all. It doesn’t give you the “steam version” or anything like that. It just adds your steam account to your epoch account.

We are still going through some growing pains at the moment but everything should be fine. If you still don’t have access to your pets from the cosmetics panel (k) after next patch, feel free to reach out again.

Yea, it sucks when this happens. It’s the age old question of normalized random systems versus nearly random systems. I’m kinda making up terms here but what I mean is. The difference between having a system with a check to make sure a bad roll doesn’t happen repeatedly or not.

We have gotten feedback like this on our crafting system too. To the point that I’ve gone back to check the algorithm several times to make absolutely sure it’s actually working as intended. (It is working as expected.)

Currently we don’t do anything to balance out the random artificially. It’s possible that we should be but as it stands, it is technically possible for any specific base item to just never appear by pure chance.

In general, we aren’t really happy with the state of the gambler. It was created in its current form as a bit of a stop gap for target farming. It’s not perfect by any means. We do have plans to improve the overall experience of item acquisition and build crafting....
