Good catch, fix’d (in game).
Good catch, fix’d (in game).
Yea, I start to see patterns in it too when I’m just crafting. Then when I have it to a few million crafts, everything is perfect in the long run.
I modified the game files to collect the data directly so I can’t share that method with you. Every roll is logged to the log files though so I thought you might possibly have created some python script to step through the log and find all the data automatically.
Character level has no impact on crafting success rates.
Serious questions: how are you collecting this information? Manually or scraping the logs automatically? How big is your data set? If it’s automatic and you have all the roll data and the data set is over 5,000 I would be very interested to see that. I have recently preformed a ton of automated and manual testing on it and I was getting insanely close to perfect distributions.
edit: even if it’s not automatic or that big, I’d still be interested in it if you’re up for sharing.
It is smart enough to only pick between ones that are possible to upgrade. The only time a Critical Success roll will not upgrade a tier is when none can be upgraded due to them all being 5+ or it would cause the item to be unusable due to level requirements.
I was really trying to avoid the phrase “working as intended” because it’s not really. It doesn’t quite fit the role we want it to and we are still going to be making changes to it. I really just wanted to confirm that I don’t believe it has any major chance related bugs at the moment. It’s doing what it says it’s doing but I wouldn’t say working as intended.
Oh I’ve seen it
I’m still running tests in different scenarios to try and find a problem. So far I have done a few million tests with all combinations of shards and glyphs. It’s a lot of tests. I’m getting near perfect distributions with automated testing. I’ve been running manual tests in the live version and so far after 200 crafts, I’m within 2% of theoretical. I did have several fractures at 85%+ estimated success rate. I’m not done looking at it but initial results indicate the displayed chance for success is accurate.
This isn’t where this conversation ends though. We are still expanding the crafting system and it will be getting updates that improve the functionality and feel of this fracturing system.
I didn’t get back to you on it. Thanks for the reminder, I’ll get this going for ya.
Because the saves are still in the folder, they are probably corrupted and aren’t loading. If you post them here I can take a stab at repairing them.
We have some updates planned for the crafting system pre-1.0
The post you are quoting is 2 and a half years old. It also goes on to explain that it won’t be how things are done long term.

Awesome, let me know if you run in to more issues. If you’d like to confirm, I can look at runs that don’t make it on to the visible ladder too.
Hey there, I moved this to bug reports so that it would get better visibility from us for helping to resolve the issue. I’m seeing a good chunk of characters from 0.7.8 for you Krumkai but nothing from 0.7.9. We had an issue with the ladder this patch which took a few hotfixes to be resolved so I know it’s probably not the case but just checking to make sure you’re fully up to date.
@Arcades , I see you’ve got some characters kinda working a bit but it looks like your Forge Guard didn’t register anything above wave 84 for some reason.
I really need to get my hands on some logs to help resolve this. I’m pretty eager to get more data on this. If you notice this happen again (or if you haven’t played since the last time it happened or are still playing), could you send me your l...
Read moreThat mana buff is not insignificant either. It’s something that we will look at for sure.
It is increased, not more.
There was a bug created in 0.7.9 which made it so that you can only get on the ladder if the event is triggered with the panel open. The next hotfix has a fix for this bug and will work without ever opening the ladder window.
Thanks for the report, good catch.
Thanks for the report. I moved this to regular bug reports instead of launcher. We have seen a few reports like this and will be creating a fix for it.
