Hi there, I’m just going to touch briefly on the music thing. We agree. We think the music is great but frequently plays music that is out of place. We have some sweet new tech that we just finished which will let us have way more control over what music is playing when. We have completely changed our entire music design process to go with this new toy. I don’t want to go into too much detail on it but it’s gonna be great!

Edit: couldn’t resist but the class locks extending the game lifespan never came up in the discussion to do that. I actually never even considered it until reading your post.

Hi there, sorry you’re having this problem. I’ve looked at your account here and it looks like you’ve successfully linked your steam account to it. I don’t have any failed log in attempts logged for you though. I’ll need a little more information to help you get this sorted.

Are you getting an error message? They should show up in vibrant red at the top and should look something like LE-123.

If not, we’ll need to get your Player.log file. Information on how to find that is available here:

Having the scene distinction is really helpful. Oldar, are you seeing the problem in the same situations too?

Could you also post rough system specs?

Comment

Hi there, welcome to Epoch. I’m sorry it’s not performing that well for you. The integrated graphics is probably causing the bottle neck. Can you post slightly more detailed system specs? What exact cpu is it? What’s your ram like? Is it a laptop?

Currently the plan is to have about 25 to 30 nodes per skill tree. Some trees are significantly under this number. Those ones will get more nodes. We find that’s generally the sweet spot where we can get a tree to not have too many dud nodes and still have interesting choices that pull you in multiple directions while still being digestible. We tried making a tree with 42 nodes (summon skeleton), it didn’t work out too well and we split it in to two trees that each are much better I think.

I wouldn’t say significant reworks for most skills. I think most skills are in a pretty good place and just need some tweeking to get them in to that sweet spot. Several high profile skills are in desperate need of reworks but we have to prioritize between reworking old trees and making new ones for new skills. I’m sure skill trees are something that will continue to get tweeked and fully rebuilt after 1.0 we don’t like to set things in stone in general.

I just replied to the other thread but I thought I’d pop in here too just so everyone knows.

We’re moving it. We’re actually reworking the panel a bit more than just moving that button.

Comment

Yup, we’re moving it.

If you get a level up it will update your entry to show the new level and personal best wave clear. The data isn’t a pair set. It’s the highest that character has reached in each category.

I think I see what happened that caused a 332 to be recorded and I can fix it.

Comment

Did it display you on the ladder on the website at 332?

Comment

I think it’s probably worth having the system clear the personal best when you switch challenge modes like that. I can probably make that happen for next patch.

It also shouldn’t record a wave advance if you’re dead.

Comment

The way it works is that it just records your character’s personal best and ignores runs that are under that. I might look in to clearing that when you switch over from SSF to not SSF. I’m not sure it’s necessary because you’re actually moving to an easier league.

As for the 331 vs 332 problem, did you ever show up on the ladder at 332? It might not have recorded that last wave and just always was 331.

We can probably help more if we have you Player.log file right after a crash. If you could also post your general pc specs, quality settings that you’re playing on and notable programs that are running in the background (e.g. VPNs, AV programs, Firewalls, Chrome with dozens of tabs, etc)

Info on how to find your player log and general support can be found here: https://support.lastepochgame.com/

If you don’t care about losing your data, you can follow the steps that AliCologne listed above.

If you want to keep your data, you can:

  1. Find your Epoch_Local_Global_Data_Beta file in C:\Users\[username]\AppData\LocalLow\Eleventh Hour Games\Last Epoch\Saves\
  2. Rename it to Epoch_Local_Global_Data_Beta.txt
  3. Post your Epoch_Local_Global_Data_Beta.txt file here.
  4. Wait for me to load it, fix it, and send it back.
  5. Replace it in your save folder.
  6. Remove .txt from the end of the file name.

Also, we have an automated fix for this problem that will be included in the next hotfix patch.

Comment

Well, here’s hoping it keeps going smooth. If you do notice any correlation between specific other programs running and crashes happening, I would be very interested to know. We have some general fixes to some crashes that people are having coming down the pipe.

I went through it last night and it doesn’t have anything conclusive as to what is causing the issue. The massively repeated error that is there appears in many logs that aren’t having crashing issues so it might be related but we don’t have enough information yet on the issue.

If you have a second monitor, could you monitor your system memory usage while playing to see if it’s capping out?

Comment

In 0.7.7, we switched our saving method and it had some unfortunate interactions with system crashes. We are sorry that this is happening and we have a new solution that is in late stage testing right now. For the time being, if you are experiencing frequent crashes, I would advise keeping a manual backup. If you need help doing this, let me know.

Player.log is the right file, as a text file it compresses very well. If you give it a zip it should work better.

General info can be found at https://support.lastepochgame.com/ but if you hand us the log, I can take a look too.

Yea, you will have lost all your stash and crafting materials though.

I went through and deleted a bunch of items that were causing the loading bugs so here is a version that is at least most of your stuff back if you want.Epoch_Local_Global_Data_Beta.txt (35.3 KB)

Edit: we also have a fix for this problem for the next patch.

Thanks, I’ll see what I can do
